"Kansas City to Hollywood" is a short that was created for the DVD collection "Disney Rarities". It's narrated by Leonard Maltin and is a VERY brief and condensed history of Walt Disney during the early years making cartoons. The reason Kansas City is mentioned is that this is where his first studio began. However, after quite a few failures, Walt is forced to shut down his studio and he moves to California where things SLOWLY pick up for him and his cartoons. Then, finally, he comes up with the Mickey cartoons and the rest is history. Amazingly, although this is a lot of material, it's all handled in only about 10 minutes! Now you'd think they'd do a poor job cramming it all in to such a short time, but it worked well and is well worth seeing.
