The Legacy of Rodgers and Hammerstein was a worthy extra on the Flower Drum Song DVD
Ted Chapin, Lawrence Maslon, and Bruce Pomahac discuss how influential Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein II were in American musical theater. Their other works-Oklahoma, South Pacific, The King and I, and The Sound of Music are also mentioned but since this is on the Flower Drum Song DVD, it's mainly that one that's mentioned here. So photos in connection with the original stage show are displayed as well as clips from the movie version. Oh, theater and movie marquees of the others are shown as well. I liked the anecdote about Oscar's closing his eyes in order to hear squeaking of chairs as his knowledge of the audience getting bored. Actually, that last bit was from the extra titled "The Songs of Flower Drum Song". So on that note, this was a worthy extra on the disc.
