Ricky Gervais has confirmed that The Office's David Brent will be heading to the big screen with his own movie, Life on the Road.
So as we anticipate what Brent has been up to since the end of the BBC hit comedy, here's what the cast have done since:
Ricky Gervais
Ricky Gervais played the lead role as David Brent - the embarrassing, toe-curling and cringeworthy boss of company Wernham Hogg, devoid of self-awareness but poised with an unwavering love for the paper merchants he manages.
Gervais went on to create comedy Extras with Stephen Merchant, which was co-produced by the BBC and HBO and aired between 2005 and 2007. Gervais played ambitious actor Andy Millman, afflicted with a useless agent played by Merchant. Guest stars have included Patrick Stewart, Samuel L Jackson, Ben Stiller and Kate Winslet.
In 2009, Gervais starred in, wrote and directed his feature comedy debut The Invention of Lying.

Review Ron Hogan 31 Mar 2014 - 06:55
Da Vinci's Demons is becoming crowded. Here's Ron's review of the latest episode...
This review contains spoilers.
2.2 The Blood Of Brothers
If you're someone famous who lived during the time period around the reign of Lorenzo Medici, specifically 1478 or so, then just accept the fact that you're going to be on Da Vinci's Demons. That's just how it works. Whether you're a famous artist, Vlad Tepes of Wallachia, or the guy the American continents are named after, if you're anywhere around Leonardo and company, you're going to end up being on Starz. That's just the way the show operates, and I think that fast-and-loose use of history proves to be beneficial.
For example, the character of Nico wasn't a major player in the first series, but since his kidnapping by Riario, I can only assume he's about to become more important to the show's general plot.

For those suffering from post-anniversary blues, here's a little something about Doctor Who's 2013 Christmas Special...
For many of us, the weekend's magnificent festivities have coloured this morning with a distinct sense of post-anniversary blues. Never fear, because we're only weeks away from another brand new Who episode, and a brand new Doctor to boot.
We're expecting a few more details on the Christmas Special to follow shortly (a title and synopsis will give us something to chew over happily for a while), but first up is the news of one of the episode's key guest stars: Orla Brady.
You may know her as the alternate Elizabeth Bishop in Fringe, or as Taryn in Sky One's Sinbad, but she's made countless other screen appearances from Mistresses to The Deep, Wallander and Poirot.

It looks as though Don Draper might have a doctor cousin across the pond.
In the first U.K. trailer for "Breathless," coming to PBS' "Masterpiece" in 2014, Jack Davenport ("Smash") arrives as a brilliant surgeon in early '60s London, caught up in a cauldron of lies and guilty secrets, driven by love, ambition and sex. Sound like someone we know?
"Television dramas that tell good stories about women's lives in the 20th century are endlessly interesting to me ... and apparently to lots of other people -- look at the appeal of 'Call the Midwife' and 'Mad Men,'" "Masterpiece" executive producer Rebecca Eaton says.
Burn Notice fans might not have to say goodbye to the whole team. TV Guide says that USA is considering a spin-off series focusing on Sam (Bruce Campbell) and Jesse (Coby Bell). There’s been something off about Burn Notice for me (even when they’re doing unnecessarily physical work for hacking jobs) ever since they cut back on the Miami locations, but perhaps a new series will be a solid reboot.
I guess I shouldn’t hope for a Jack of All Trades revival yet.
So far, I’m not particularly interested in The Blacklist which looks er, inspired by Silence of the Lambs with James Spader hamming it up instead. Now that TVLine reports that Parminder Nagra is joining that cast, I’m a little interested.

"Masterpiece" on PBS has picked up its next period piece from across the pond -- a medical drama set in the 1960s called "Breathless."
The six-hour drama is set in a London hospital in 1961. It stars Jack Davenport, late of "Smash," as the head of the hospital's gynecology unit at a time when the birth-control pill had just become available and abortion was still illegal. The cast also includes "Downton Abbey" alumni Iain Glen (also of "Game of Thrones") and Zoe Boyle and Natasha Little ("Case Histories," the U.K. "Mistresses").

Wendy Williams is doing quite well, her talk show will will air until 2017.
Hm. Justin Theroux and HBO. Remember him on Six Feet Under?
Justin Theroux has joined the HBO pilot The Leftovers. Based on a book by Tom Perrotta, it follows the people of earth after the Rapture. That sounds a lot like Left Behind, but since this is HBO I’m hoping this book loses the uncomfortable bigotries.
Theroux isn’t the only hottie joining an HBO pilot, Bobby Cannavale has joined a Mick Jagger-produced pilot about a record executive in 1977 New York City. Don’t they know all the cool period dramas are set in the 1980s, these days?
And while we’re on the topic of HBO dramas getting their leading men out of their clothes,
there’s Bobby Cannavale‘s Boardwalk Empire role.

Diane Haithman is contributing to Deadline’s TCA coverage. Modern Family is such a hit for ABC that entertainment president Paul Lee just referred to it as simply “Modern” during a morning TCA panel. Everyone on the planet would know what show he meant. But if ratings are any indication, the TV viewership is not on such a first-name basis with another ABC Wednesday night comedy, The Middle. At today’s late afternoon panel on the show, executive producers DeAnn Heline and Eileen Heisler joked that they were going to go to a bar and have a drink for every time a TV critic calls the show “underrated.” Related: ‘Body Of Proof’ Producers On Season 3 Changes: TCA Still, the producers and cast members who attended the panel (Eden Sher, Atticus Shaffer, Neil Flynn and Patricia Heaton), said they are pretty satisfied with the show’s 8 Pm time slot and the...

Terry O'Quinn as Gavin Doran in "666 Park Avenue" (ABC/Andrew Eccles)
ABC‘s slate of new shows for fall has a strange flavor to it, and it’s going to be a bumpy ride. The network has about as many new shows as returning ones (if you count all the midseasons), and a good percentage of the returning offerings are a year old or less, making this look a bit like a rebuilding year.
Not only is it a rebuilding year, but it’s the year of bringing back every actor and actress who ever had a decent run on a show before. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a network’s new season slate that was so crammed with people returning from something else. If you can’t make it good, I suppose, make sure viewers recognize the faces.
It’s tricky to get a solid feel...

The Starz network has done it again, renewing its 1960's Miami-set period crime tale "Magic City" for a second season several weeks before the first episode goes to air. The first three episodes will debut on various platforms before the premiere goes to air on April 6th.
Starz previously did the same for the Kelsey Grammer-led "Boss" which rode in on great acclaim. However both praise for the show and the ratings quickly dwindled as the season went on, thus they're stuck with having to produce a second season.

"Lost" star Yunjin Kim is returning to ABC as one of the stars of the upcoming series "Mistresses," created by K.J. Steinberg ("Gossip Girl"). The series, which may fill in the primetime soap gap left after the imminent departure of "Desperate Housewives," is adapted from the British series, which ran from 2008 to 2010. "Mistresses" centers on four women whose complex and scandalous romantic lives get them into a series of thrilling conundrums. After the high profile and, what Hollywood execs like to call “high concept” shows of last week’s article, this week I will be going through new pilots which follow two trends I like to call “remaking is breaking” and “Desperate Housewives is over and Grey’s Anatomy has got to end sometime”.
Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives have been big ratings pulls in the coveted demographic (18-49 if you don’t know) for ABC and have meant big advertising bucks. And, even though Grey’s prolific creator Shonda Rhimes, who will be show running three to five shows next season depending on pickups, has claimed that Grey’s will move past eight seasons, there is a general sense that the show is on the decline and, coupled with the loss of Desperate Housewives at the end of the current season, there is a definite hole in the market.

The soap, written by Kj Steinberg based on the British format, is described as a provocative thrilling drama that finds four women, two of them played by Aytes and Macallan, with scandalous romantic lives, caught in storms of excitement and self-discovery, secrecy and betrayal, and at the mercy of the complex relationships they’ve created. Aytes, repped by Innovative and Zero Gravity Management, will play April, a recent widow raising two daughters and running a high-end linen shop on Robertson Boulevard. Coincidentally, Aytes also played one of the 4 leads in the previous U.S. Mistresses adaptation, a 2009 Lifetime pilot penned by Melissa Carter. In her first series regular role, Macallan, repped by Luber Roklin, Momentum and attorney Lev Ginsburg,...
