By far my favorite episode of the series so far. So beautifully written & filmed and the actresses that play the young versions of Elena & Mia were fantastic. I absolutely loved this portal into their pasts.

Hats off to both Tiffany Boone and Annasophia Robb for both capturing Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon beautifully! Particularly Tiffany Boone, she executed Kerry's facial expressions, intonation, and essence perfectly! Both actresses are very impressive!

Warning: Spoilers
*SPOILERS* I finally finished the whole episode. I tell you what, this episode all by itself deserves an Emmy! So extremely well scripted and acted. The ending scene with Pearl getting older in the back seat of the same old car as they keep moving from town to town and that song done in that tempo..Just exceptional work by the entire cast, writers and directors ect...

Tiffany Boone.. you're awesome

I don't particularly care for the way this show was adapted from the book, and I also don't typically write reviews, but I was just STUNNED by how well Tiffany Boone portrayed Kerry Washington down to the way her freaking lips moved!! It was so good. That's all I have to say.

loved it!

I personally think that we will have to rethink all the discussions about who is a likable and who is an unlikable character. This episode was important in terms of that. It puts things into perspective. And we should also forget about the Kerry Washington's facial expression narrative, it doesn't matter anymore (it never mattered to me. unpopular opinion - i like her approach). The acting was amazing. The actors who played young Kerry and young Reese nailed it in every way. YAY

A masterclass in acting

Insanely good acting by the younger versions of the stars. Tiffany Boone deserves an Emmy, Golden Globe, or whatever other award they can throw at her for her performance here.

Backstory episode.

3.5 out of 5 stars.

The episode shows a little backstory of Elena and Mia. And how they came to be. A lot of questions are answered with the mystery of these two characters. Emotional driven script and direction. Great performances with the cast.

Stupid Filler Episode

Flashback episodes usually don't work and this is no exception. They should have moved forward with the storyline instead of this nonsense.

Waste of An Episode

This episode was okay but wasn't really needed. It could have been the first half of an episode but there was just a lot of information that wasn't necessary and you feel like is never going to come up again in the show.

Great Acting!

Warning: Spoilers
Tiffany Boone, impeccable facial expressions for Kerry Washington's character, Annasophia Robb captured Reese's character of speaking and delivering lines, however, the even with the lengthy narrative with this episode it seems they could have just done these flashback scenes with another present episode to tell more of the story. I think it was unnecessary for a full episode just all flashbacks, well that's just me.

Also, wasn't there an episode wherein Mia (played by Kerry) in one flashback scene, from one of the previous episodes, where she was having sex inside her car and a baby Pearl just woke up and Mia just kicked out her hook up.

Just being nit picky or maybe they just thought no one would notice. Ha!

Anyhoo overall superb acting from Annasophia and Tiffany. All the best!
