Critic Reviews

Based on 5 critic reviews provided by Metacritic.com
16 Shots feels like an impassioned, intelligent document of a major moment in the history of Chicago.
As 16 Shots so well documents, this was a seminal moment in Chicago history, as “just another justified police shooting” turned out to be anything but that.
The resulting film is a gripping story about a search for justice amid systemic corruption.
16 Shots remains valuable as a record of past events that hold sway over the present.
The filmmaker's intent was obviously to concentrate on the specific incident and its aftermath, but personal details would probably have enhanced the overall emotional impact. Nonetheless, 16 Shots is a worthy addition to what has sadly become a proliferating documentary subgenre.
