While there are a lot of Disney characters who easily stand out on their own, there are some iconic Disney duos that show how much fun a pair can be. Disney has always loved exploring friendship in their animated movies and they have done so successfully since the beginning of their run. However, even in their long history, some Disney duos rise above the rest and showcase those truly special pairings that have delivered laughs, heartbreak, and charm to audiences over the years.
Including all the Pixar movies alongside the animated Disney roster, there are a lot of notable pairs to choose from. There are some friends who clearly go back a long way, like Mike and Sully in Monsters Inc. Some start out with a lot of tension only to find common ground, like Moana and Maui. Of course, some Disney duos are just fun to watch sharing the screen,...

Elizabeth Olsen is joining Julia Roberts in Warner Bros.’ thriller feature Panic Carefully.
Sam Esmail is set to direct from his own script, with the studio landing the package in February following a bidding war and committing to a theatrical release. Esmail will produce with Chad Hamilton for Email Corp., alongside Roberts, Scott Stuber, Marisa Yeres Gill and Lisa Gillan.
Panic Carefully is described as a paranoid thriller reminiscent of Silence of the Lambs and Esmail’s Emmy-winning USA Network series Mr. Robot. Kevin McCormick and Chrystal Li will oversee it for Warner Bros.
Esmail’s most recent feature was the 2023 Netflix thriller Leave the World Behind, in which Roberts starred alongside Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke and Myha’la. Coming up, Esmail is producing A24’s thriller movie Famous, in which Zac Efron and Phoebe Dynevor are starring for director Jody Hill. Before Tom Cruise was driving motorcycles off cliffs, clinging to planes, and fighting bad guys atop moving trains in the name of "Mission: Impossible," the franchise had its humble beginnings in the form of a very '60s CBS series. The original "Mission: Impossible" was a spy series with a rotating cast of characters created by Bruce Gellar, who died in a plane crash just five years after the show ended. Several key cast members have passed away in the years since then, including Peter Graves, Greg Morris, Martin Landau, Steven Hill, and, of course, Leonard Nimoy.
"Mission: Impossible" was a huge success when it aired, winning 10 Emmys throughout its seven-season run and producing 171 episodes. The show inspired an '80s revival series, but "Mission: Impossible" really took off when Cruise (and Brian De Palma) got a hold of the franchise in 1996. The near-superhuman character Ethan Hunt was created for the movies,...

It was Dwight Howard’s last dance on Dancing with the Stars, and viewers seemed delighted about the big man’s elimination.
The 6-foot-10 basketball star became the tallest contestant ever to appear on DWTS, and his professional dance partner, Daniella Karagach, taught him brilliantly.
However, viewers felt five other pairs were more deserving of moving closer to claiming the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
Among them were frontrunners, including Chandler Kinney with Brandon Armstrong, Joey Graziadei with Jenna Johnson, and Danny Amendola with Witney Carson.
Many individuals took to social media to express their happiness over the latest elimination as their favorites remained safe for another week of the competition.
Some even mentioned Howard’s legendary basketball teammate in unmerciful and savage remarks about him leaving the show.

Amazon MGM Studios and producer Scott Stuber have teamed up to acquire the film adaptation rights to an adult mystery thriller novel proposal by bestselling author Lauren Oliver, and Deadline reports that Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson has boarded the project with the intention of producing it alongside Stuber… and, if she likes the script, she’ll also sign on to play the title character of The Girl in the Lake.

Now that we know "Call Me By Your Name" and "Challengers" director Luca Guadagnino is making his own version of "American Psycho" — one that's based on Bret Easton Ellis' novel, not the 2000 movie helmed by writer-director Mary Harron — the world is waiting to see who Guadagnino and his team choose to play this generation's Patrick Bateman. I'm eminently unqualified to make this decision — for one thing, I'm not a casting director, and also, nobody asked me — but I definitely have ideas.
Here's one: Guadagnino could gender-flip the role and cast Zendaya, his "Challengers" lead who proved, throughout the tennis drama, that she can definitely play an apex predator. If she's not available, Margaret Qualley could probably make a meal out of the role. If we're sticking with guys, there are some great options who have simply aged out of the role; Robert Pattinson and Penn Badgley could both bring something quite excellent to Patrick,...

Anchor Bay Entertainment has acquired the global rights for the comedy “Sour Party,” co-written, directed, and produced by the married duo Amanda and Michael Drexton. “This love-hate letter to Los Angeles is a semi-autobiographical ode to the worst parts of ourselves as told by two self-obsessed, flailing 30-somethings,” said the Drextons.
The film stars Samantha Westervelt, another co-writer of the film, alongside “Pitch Perfect 2” alum Reggie Watts, “Stand By Me” cast member Corey Feldman, and Augie Duke from “Mayans M.C.” The film revolves around two broke women, Gwen (Westervelt) and James (Amanda) in their thirties who embark on a mission to collect money from failing, wannabe artists with the hopes of raising enough to buy an expensive gift for a baby shower thrown for Gwen’s sister. “It is a feminist take on the traditional, male-dominated buddy comedy,” said the Drextons.

Peacock has unveiled the first trailer for its upcoming original series, Hysteria!, offering a thrilling and eerie glimpse into the dark world of the 1980s “Satanic Panic.” The series, set to premiere on the streaming platform later this fall, explores the hysteria that gripped a small Midwestern town when rumors of occult practices and devil worship began to spread, stoking fear, paranoia, and moral panic.
Plot Overview: A Town Gripped by Fear
The trailer sets an ominous tone, blending retro visuals with a suspenseful soundtrack that evokes the atmosphere of the 1980s. Hysteria! follows a group of teenagers who become entangled in a series of mysterious events after a classmate goes missing. As the community grows increasingly suspicious, rumors about satanic rituals and cult activity begin to take hold, sparking a witch-hunt mentality that pits neighbors against each other. The show examines how fear and misinformation can spiral out of control,...

2024 is (a). almost over and (b). has officially entered its spooky season. So by now, we can pinpoint some horror trends. What is scaring us this year?
Both "Immaculate" and "The First Omen" are about young women forced by religious fanatics to bear unwanted and monstrous pregnancies. Due to the movies' overlapping subject matter and tight release window, they were named the harbingers of a pro-choice horror wave. America did recently strip people's rights to abortion by judicial fiat, after all. Even Coralie Fargeat's "The Substance," a body horror film about how beauty standards devalue aging women, is a cousin to these films. (Fargeat's film has got the most disgusting "birth" scene that doesn't star a chestburster.)
However, one should not forget the religious settings of "Immaculate" and "The First Omen," for this is where the two 2024 horror trends intersect.

Back in June, author Suzanne Collins announced that she was writing a new Hunger Games novel titled Sunrise on the Reaping. It's set to arrive in bookstores on March 18, 2025, and tells a story set 40 years after The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
Hours later, it was confirmed that a movie adaptation is also in the works and the actor who will play the young Haymitch Abernathy (a character portrayed by Woody Harrelson in the original trilogy) may have now been revealed.
According to Production Weekly (via SFFGazette.com), Challengers star Mike Faist may be in line to lead the cast of Sunrise on the Reaping. Given the source, we'd advise taking this with a pinch of salt; however, the publication has been known to share plenty of accurate casting intel in the past.

Picture the mid-80s. The United States are halfway through the Reagan era and Sylvester Stallone has just set his sights on Paramount Pictures’ upcoming Beverly Hills Cop. Hellbent on starring in a crime thriller, the Rambo and Rocky veteran goes so far as to rewrite the script in order to replace most of the humor with even more extravagant action scenes. Rather unsurprisingly, Paramount ends up rejecting Stallone’s costly version of the film – a decision that would ripple throughout time and lead to the production of one of the most infamous B-movies ever made.
Often referred to as the dumb man’s Dirty Harry, 1986’s Cobra is mostly remembered as a humorous misstep in Stallone’s vast filmography. However, with modern cinema’s disappointing (albeit understandable) lack of over-the-top crime thrillers that pit rogue cops against sensationalized threats pulled directly rom the headlines, I think this is the...

If knives weren’t already being sharpened for Ti West prior to MaXXXine––the third installment in his X series of exploitation throwbacks––they likely will be at the ready once discerning horror fans experience it. On the surface, this is West returning to the same bloody ground as his terrific 2009 breakout The House of the Devil, only with a much starrier cast in tow for this 1985-set slasher mystery. Like that movie, the backdrop here is Reagan-era Satanic Panic, a fitting bedfellow for a story that begins in the adult entertainment industry––that other key scourge for social conservatives in the decade that style forgot. Wider ties between The House of the Devil and MaXXXine, beyond their shared cultural contexts, are few and far between, yet it’s hard not to regard this movie as something of a self-aware victory lap for its director; West isn’t just...

Heather overcame financial struggles to win Panic, but Cortez's manipulation led to his demise in the end. Ray transformed from bad boy to hero, saving lives and finding love through the challenges of Panic. The series' ending left open questions about a potential season 2, revealing unresolved mysteries behind the dangerous game.
The Panic ending explained little in a finale full of twists and turns, although a few aspects were left open to viewer interpretation. Amazon Prime's teen drama was based on author Lauren Oliver's 2014 book of the same name. Rather than have someone else adapt her story for TV, Oliver took the reins while making adjustments to make for a better small-screen story. Panic centered on the small town of Carp, Texas, where graduating seniors carried on a tradition by playing a dangerous game called "Panic."
The competition carried a $50,000 winning pot, attracting a few dozen players, including...

Morgan and her friends began to film the man, who they named Worlds because of his shirt, and send each other the short videos. They didn’t post them publicly and never approached Worlds so they didn’t...
