I’ve been sick as a dog this past week after bringing home a bug from my horror adventures at PanicFest. In my semi-delirious haze of sneezing out my eyeballs, bottomless teas, and naps on demand – there’s one guilty pleasure I always seem to gravitate to. Reality TV. But once you dig through the ditches and burn through the witches, there are plenty of real-life frights to be found…
Reality TV has provided us with many horror-themed shows that will have you screaming at your screen. From prank shows to survival challenges, these shows take horror to a whole new level. So, put on your brave face and get ready for a guide to the best horror reality TV series of all time.

Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo is offering hints at what fans can expect when the Netflix sci-fi series’ highly anticipated volume 2 of season four drops Friday.
During his visit to The Tonight Show on Wednesday, the actor who plays Dustin addressed host Jimmy Fallon mentioning that the second volume only includes two episodes.
“The eighth episode is, I think, probably an hour and a half,” Matarazzo, 19, said about the fourth season. “But episode nine is getting close to two and a half hours. It’s a movie.”
He continued about the entire season, “It’s nine movies, practically. All of them are close to an hour and a half — all of them over an hour.”
Fallon praised the upcoming episodes by saying, “It’s all starting to pay off, and everything works, and it’s really cool.” Matarazzo concurred and added, “You learn a lot.

A little while ago I reviewed the first season of Prank Encounters that was hosted by the enchanting Gaten Mazzerato. I hadn’t heard anything about the show since, so I assumed that there would be no second season but to my surprise, Netflix released another season! This is a show that is somewhat similar to the iconic prank show Prank Patrol which was a piece of nostalgia that people my age still reference the catchphrase “You’ve been pranked by the Prank Patrol” even today. However Prank Encounters is a much more intense show, that works – mostly – due to the innocent and charming nature of Gaten; who hosts the show and calls down the victims at the end of the show. He has a smile that can’t help but make you feel at ease and so was the perfect choice to host this show!
So this show selects...

Exclusive: Last spring, New York City became the global epicenter of the Covid-19 pandemic, its hospitals struggling to cope with a surge of patients, while temporary morgues filled up with victims.
That grim period, and the health care workers who bravely tended to the sick, are the focus of an upcoming documentary produced by Convicts studio that has reached a global distribution deal with Propagate International.
The untitled film directed by Jonny Kapps foregrounds three medical workers at Mount Sinai Health System in New York who fought in the trenches as the novel coronavirus overwhelmed the city.
“With unprecedented access into Mount Sinai Health System and its team,” Convicts and Propagate tell Deadline, “the documentary provides a rare and intimate window into the harrowing plight of frontline healthcare workers as they care for ill patients and navigate personal hardships amidst the greatest public health crisis of our generation.”

Ben Silverman and Paul Lieberstein, former executive producers of one of the most popular workplace comedies ever, The Office, are taking inspiration from the current situation for a remote workplace comedy series in the works at Big Breakfast, a comedy banner under Silverman and Howard Owens’ Propagate Content.
“So many of us are jumping on daily Zoom meetings — for work and beyond,” Silverman said. “We are in a new normal and are personally navigating ways to remain connected and productive at work and in our home lives. With the brilliant Paul Lieberstein at the helm, we think we have a series that not only brings humor and comfort during this troubling time but will also be an inventive...

“Scare Tactics” co-creator Scott Hallock has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit over the Netflix show “Prank Encounters,” saying his former partner had no right to create a show similar to their original.
Hallock filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday against Kevin Healey and Propagate Content, the producers of “Prank Encounters,” which premiered last year and was hosted by “Stranger Things” star Gaten Matarazzo. (Netflix is not a named defendant in the lawsuit).
In the lawsuit, Hallock says when he and Healey parted ways in 2016, Healey signed over all his rights to “Scare Tactics” — a scripted comedy/horror hidden camera television show that began production in 2002 and ran for five seasons on Syfy.

Netflix have put out their annual lists of the most popular content on their streaming platform, marking what’s been another bumper year of material for the company. Split into the most popular general releases and various other categories, the names on the Us lists are fairly predictable, including Stranger Things, The Witcher and The Irishman, but also contain some surprisingly popular hits such as the Adam Sandler vehicle Murder Mystery.
The ratings are believed to be based on a Netflix metric using the number of individual accounts that have watched at least two minutes of their content in its first 28 days of release. For the breakdown of most popular content across all categories, Sandler’s popularity on the streamer is borne out by Murder Mystery topping the list, followed by the third season of Stranger Things, Ryan Reynolds’ 6 Underground, The Incredibles 2 and The Irishman.

‘Stranger Things 3,’ ‘The Witcher,’ ‘When They See Us’ Among Netflix’s Most Popular TV Shows in 2019
“Stranger Things 3,” “The Witcher” and “The Umbrella Academy” were among the most popular series offered on Netflix in 2019, the streaming giant has confirmed.
Netflix has issued a series of top 10 “most popular” lists for its content in various genres, breaking down the movies, series, nonfiction programs, documentaries, comedy specials, kids and family and international releases that were among the most viewed in the U.S. market.
Netflix released rankings, but did not disclose actual viewership stats, in keeping with its longstanding policy. According to a Netflix spokeswoman, the rankings were determined not by total number of viewers, but by counting the total number of households to stream an individual title for at least two minutes during the first 28 days of its release. For those titles that have not yet been available for 28 days, the company used projections based on the early data to estimate a 28-day viewership number, a process...

Netflix has revealed a series of top 10 lists highlighting the streaming platform’s most-viewed films and television series of 2019 in the United States. Overall, the most popular release across any format was the comedy “Murder Mystery,” starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. The most popular television series was the third season of “Stranger Things,” and the most-viewed nonfiction release of the year was the self-care series “Tidying Up With Marie Kondo.”
In the case of these lists, most “popular” is defined by anything actually released in 2019, and what was most viewed within 28 days of its initial launch on Netflix. The streamer also defines a viewer here as anyone who watched at least two minutes of these programs.
Among the overall top 10 most popular titles housed on the streaming platform, only one film or series was not a Netflix original release: “The Incredibles 2.” Also of note amid the overall top 10, six...

“Stranger Things” star and host of “Prank Encounters” Gaten Matarazzo offered some insider details on both of the shows he’s working on, as well as his thoughts on Season 4 of the Duffer brothers-produced series and his favorite fan theory.
“Stranger Things” Season 3, which premiered on Netflix in June, introduced a new evil, forcing the Hawkins crew to jump back into action. Threatened by the presence of Russian scientists and bloodthirsty townspeople, the kids, along with Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour) and Joyce (Winona Ryder), save the day and the town yet again, though it comes with a heavy cost. The trauma of the Upside Down’s attempts on their lives prompts a few of the characters to leave Hawkins in search of a fresh start.
The series has left fans anxious as they wait to see what’s in store for the cast of the Emmy-nominated show. Viewers have been...

The prank show format has seen a decline in recent years but I can remember as a child watching the likes of Prank Patrol where they would prank unexpected members of the public which were hilarious and, to be honest, one of the TV highlights of my childhood. This was why I was extremely excited to see a new prank show on Netflix entitled Prank Encounters.
Having known Gaten Matarazzo from his fun role on the Netflix original series Stranger Things, I was intrigued when I discovered he was going to hosting his incredible show but he was actually the perfect person for this job. The show opened with a dark and mysterious vibe where Gaten delivers an ominous story to help set up the prank. It was really interesting to see him in a more serious role which is a sharp contrast to the jovial nature of his character...

Ashton Kutcher entertained us for years with his celebrity prank show Punk'd, and now it seems a new star has arrived to take up the prankster mantle: Gaten Matarazzo. The Stranger Things alum is the host of Netflix's upcoming reality series Prank Encounters, which takes strangers on "the surprise ride of a lifetime."
In the trailer for the show, above, the 17-year-old actor helps orchestrate legitimately terrifying pranks on unsuspecting people who appear to be signing up to do one-day temp work assignments. What seems like an easy babysitting gig or boring office job soon turn into what looks like walking nightmares, with scares like backwoods serial killers, possessed stuffed animals, a mummy (or two), and more shocks in store.
