- A woman reveals to someone that she is not a virgin, and this causes problems. Another woman runs away with a man, and the fear that she may have ended her virginity causes an uproar.
- We learn that a rumor has circulated, that a youngish woman may have engaged in sexual activity with a man.
- Infrequent sexual references and crude remarks from the main character. Referenced are homosexuality, men touching themselves and other sexual related topics.
- Woman wear outfits that reveal moderate cleavage, however the majority of outfits are relatively modest.
- The camera looks down a woman's front implying that a man is doing so as well.
- Two women state that they prefer the company (heavily implied, sexually) of women. One is lying.

- Gun violence: "sport" shooting of birds released for the purpose. We never actually see the birds. We learn that one pheasant was accidentally killed by a man who repeatedly is careless with his long gun, inadvertently pointing it at several people.
- One violent incident resulting in a bloody non-lethal wound.

- For the most part mild. The British profanity "bl--dy is used a few times. Harsher cursing is implied but cut off before actually being used.
