When digging up the body in the cemetery, they dig through the soil directly onto the coffin. Some people believe that most jurisdictions in the U.S. require the coffin be encased in a metal or concrete vault. However, this is a widely believed myth. There are not usually laws in the United States that require a coffin to be encased in a vault. Instead, this is usually a policy of the cemetery as it will ensure the ground does not collapse in after the coffin breaks down in the soil making the area harder on grounds-keeping staff. The thin material this coffin was made from (plywood) actually points more to a natural, or green, burial which would not encase the coffin or shroud in a vault. See more »

Dr. Amber Volakis: So Thirteen, you grow up around here?
Thirteen: We're digging up a grave and you want to chit-chat?
Dr. Amber Volakis: I'm just making conversation. It's what people do. Why are you hiding everything? And I'm asking you that question because you're hiding everything. There's something seriously wrong with you. I'm worried.
Thirteen: [smiles] No, you're not.
Dr. Amber Volakis: Fine, but I am freaked because I don't think you're a freak. I think you're doing this on purpose because you know House will be intrigued.

A funeral home cosmetologist begins hallucinating, and it is up to House and his team of six (or is it seven?) to solve the problem. As this was broadcast just one week before Halloween, it is full of scary images. The sick young lady, very nicely played by Azura Skye, imagines corpses attacking her, her long-dead mother sitting in her hospital room, and even a long dead relative of House's popping in for a visit. House has several run-ins with the now-blonde Cameron, and has to let one doctor go at the end of the episode. Who will it be? Amber Dudek continues to amaze as the bitchy blonde doctor, who actively plots to get rid of the competition. Foreman is back, looking for a job, and Chase has a cameo performing surgery on the bedeviled woman. Wilson is relegated to one quick scene, where he eggs House onto greater glory. The business with the long-dead mother is a heart breaker. Be prepared.
