Amrit Kaur has A Lister talent

It becomes immediately apparent that Amrit Kaur has great comedic talent. Hope to see her in more shows. Lots of good characters and actors playing those characters, but it's Kaur that stands out.

The first season was funny, edgy, risque, and overall great! Easy to binge. No spoilers here - all I can say is enjoy!

The second season was undistinguished - like a run of the mill sit-com. Not premium channel worthy. The show lost its punch. Additionally, the plots and subplots were not as well developed as they were in the first season.

If there is a third season, I hope the writers revert back to first season form.

    One season show

They should have kept the show and get rid of the title, but instead in second season they decided to keep the tile and get rid of the show (writing) instead. I gave the first season 8/10 and felt that it was really well written but sadly misnamed show, that might end up making creators lives really hard in the future because the shows values and strong points obviously stood elsewhere then what the title promotes. The second season is 4/10. It happened. They are trying so hard to live up to the name that they forgot to write the show this time around - I guess they took the advice of the audiences who where stuck in the shows title and were left somewhat horny after first season?! The second season feels soulless and out of touch, but that's what you get when your dialogues are made of bullet points and headlines for the character. It sad that marketing killed this show.

    Haters gonna hate

Not sure why people feel the need to watch this just to complain about the "woke agenda" after. You can tell from the get go that this is going to be a diverse, female-centric show. If that's not your thing just watch one of the gazillion other shows featuring shallow pretty girls and all white casts, there really is no shortage.

Aside from that, pretty funny show with relatable characters that touches on some serious issues without getting too preachy. Good lighthearted entertainment to binge in a day or two.

    Amrit Kaur is standout

Always looking for a good comedy, came to the show expecting a lot because it's Mindy Kaling. The show is well-written and current and I'm very happy the politics is gone, even if I am on the same team. You just can't get away from it for a second.

There are some stereotypes but that is the structure of comedy. The age of the actors is now distracting in season three but Amrit Kaur is the highlight of the show. She lights up the screen and, while an older actor, she acts like a college student. My partner and I were commenting that we would definitely watch anything else that she stars in.

The show has really found its footing in season three and we are happy to have stuck with it.

like this show, was fun but a bit too short- 22mins per episode

Liked the jokes and the chemistry. Id give it an 8 in terms of production quality. Was easily bingeable as only 22 mins per episode(from episode 2 onward) and theres end credits of a few mins giving 25 mins an episode. The pilot was longer at around 55 minutes.

The characters have great chemistry. Each character's lives is interesting. The structure is good. Its well filmed. High production quality. You are genuinely invested in the characters.

Standout character is definitely the indian girl, Bela, played by Amrit kaur. She is funny and steals every scene. The character is basically a sex-addict ironically coming from a conservative indian background. Indian audiences in the west will find this funny.

    • Trivia
Though Essex College is fictional, it bears some resemblance to showrunner Mindy Kaling's prestigious Ivy League alma mater, Dartmouth College (Essex is supposed to be in Vermont, while Dartmouth is in Hanover, New Hampshire--a town on the border with Vermont). "Dartmouth" and "Essex" are both place names in southern England. Filming locations representing Essex College varied over the show's first two seasons. Many first season Essex locations were filmed at Vassar College, a private liberal arts college in Poughkeepsie, New York. Season two college scenes were filmed at the University of Washington in Seattle and the University of California-Los Angeles.
