Sex & Nudity

  • A group of men attempt to sexually assault another man in some prison showers but they all get beaten up.
  • There are collectible playboy magazines (nudity not seen)
  • A woman's head is shown bobbing by a man's crotch during a scene in a night club, implying oral sex.
  • Some of the playboy magazines have boobs fully showed and butts fully showed.
  • Lots of graphic sexual references and phrases
  • A girls butt is visible for about two seconds in a non-sexual manner.
  • You can collect playboy magazines that are found in many different locations. They give you achievements but nothing else.
  • Pictures around the map show girls in skimpy outfits.

Violence & Gore

  • The game contains numerous bloody shootouts as well as stabbings, bombings, and executions and point-blank range.
  • There are numerous violent beatings and brutal takedown finishing moves which involve lots of punching and kicking.
  • This game is set in a 1940/1950's setting, so the world is openly available, violence isnt frowned upon in this game, but it isnt encouraged.
  • You can randomly shoot innocent people in the street which shows them begging for mercy and pools of blood.
  • The scenes of graphic violence are disturbing. A man is brutally murdered and is screaming while people hack him to death with meat cleavers.

Profanity

  • There is a ton of language throughout, as the game has two Guiness book records.
  • 397 Uses of f**k and it's derivatives. About 150-175 uses of s**t, as well as dozens of uses of b**ch, b***ard, a*shole and cunt is used 12 times
  • NOTE That racist terms such as "Ch*nk" and "N*gger" are used many times throughout as well, this game is set in the 1940's and 1950's. Racism was openly used in those times, and it used very frequently in the game
  • Most, probably 75% of the profanity comes from one character, who is very important within the game, and he is in almost every mission.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There is constant heavy drinking throughout. In one scene two men are very heavily intoxicated.
  • The ability to not play the mission is possible, in which case there are several bars available where you can openly get drunk at. Different alcohols in the game contain stronger kicks. Example: Whiskey is the strongest.
  • Vito and Joe deal cigarrettes and people are seen smoking.
  • Some mobsters deal Heroin in the game, and there is a scene of a man tasting it to make sure it's good before selling it.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Not recommended for anyone under age 18.
  • The shootouts are graphic.
  • Mafia 2 is a very violent game.
  • A man is mutilated by a triad gang with meat cleavers while screaming in terror on the ground. This is quite frightening and intense. He can also be heard gargling afterwards.

Violence & Gore

  • There is a mission with Vito fighting at war and engaging in a gunfight with enemy soldiers.

Profanity

  • There is a cutscene where English Gang members go to the main character's (Vito) house and say, "Take this you Dago Cunt." Then they burn his house down. Some people might not know that the word "Dago" is an Italian slur. The word "Cunt" is also a slur.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Heroin plays a major role in the plot of the game. Eventually, a shootout occurs in the basement of a heroin processing facility.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some of the story takes place in a prison after Vito is arrested. A few boxing fistfights occur.
