Sex & Nudity

  • Children and young teens are swimming in a pool. All are wearing swimsuits. 2 teen boys begin harassing a young girl. They untie her bathing suit top and try to pull it off. She tries to hold her suit on, covering her breasts with her hands, and shouts for help.
  • A preteen girl comes out of the bathroom wearing only a towel.
  • A preteen girl disrobed and climbs into a boy's bed nude. Nothing sexual .
  • Little boy looks through a telescope to see a man and woman kissing. The man puts his hand in her shirt and her whole breast is shown.

Violence & Gore

  • Much of the gory stuff occurs off-camera, in dim lighting or brief exposure. Less bloody than it could have been.
  • A young boy is thrown to the ground by three bullies, kicked and beaten. He is also given a wedgie so painful that he urinates as it happens.
  • A man falls from a 10th story window. The impact isn't seen, only the aftermath.
  • A young girl attacks a man twice her size, drinks his blood and snaps his neck. The attack is shown on camera, though is not overly graphic.
  • A teenage boy is hung upside down from a tree while unconscious, but still alive. A knife is stabbed into his throat and blood pours into a container to be collected.
  • A young boy cuts his thumb with a knife to make a pact with a girl. A close-up is seen, and blood is shown dripping from the wound.
  • A man pours hydrochloric acid onto his face. Though we don't see the actual burning of his skin, we see the major disfiguration that it causes in a later scene.
  • A woman in a hospital bursts into flames after being exposed to sunlight. A nurse in the room is also burned to death.
  • A young boy hits another boy in the head with a metal pole, splitting his ear. A close-up of the wound is shown.
  • An older man attacks young men on two occasions, though no overt violence is shown. The action is more implied.
  • A young girl attacks a woman. A depiction of the bloody wound left to her throat is shown.
  • A dead body encased in ice is lifted from a pond. No wounds are seen.
  • A young girl begins to bleed heavily after entering a boy's home without being invited in. He quickly tells her to come in and hugs her.
  • A young girl attacks an older man and drinks his blood, all in front of a younger boy. A violent and very bloody struggle is shown, and the boy is shown to be visibly distressed.
  • A young boy's head is forced underwater with the intent of drowning him. This scene is very disturbing.
  • A car skids and crashes, flipping several times. The crash is shown in graphic detail from within the car, though no major wounds or damage are seen happening to the occupants.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • A young girl undresses and climbs into bed with a young boy. You see the girl undressing at the background, no nudity is clearly shown, and the scene does not hold any underlying sexual connotations. Some may find this slightly disturbing, however, due to the fact that the young girl is a vampire and is actually almost 100 years old but she still has the emotional maturity of a 12 year old.

Violence & Gore

  • Four young boys are attacked and violently ripped apart. The actual scene is not shown, but displaced and bloody body parts are seen on several occasions (including a violently decapitated head).
