Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022)
After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.

    Storyline

    After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is ready for more freedom, and Tom and Maddie agree to leave him home while they go on vacation. But, no sooner are they gone, when Dr. Robotnik comes back, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to both build and destroy civilizations.     Sonic 2
    I could have done without the pop culture references, but most of the film's humor and depth was fairly solid. And by god, those special effects just scream why it's always better to go for practical effects over CGI when you can (i say this as a compliment, watch this film's behind the scenes).
