I think once viewers understand that this is not supposed to be a branch of SVU they could give it an opportunity on its own. People are comparing it to its franchise when in fact it's really its own show. It doesn't wrap up with a bow every episode bike SVU does. The storylines are longer and for me that's a nice change because I never thought it was realistic for the cases in SVU to be solved within an episode or two. If you're interested in 21st-century mob crimes that are of this time, I don't think that you will have an issue with show one bit. The only reason why I'm not giving it a full 10 is because I'm not sure if it's a budget issue, but props just don't look good on the show. You'll see an iPhone that doesn't have an iPhone interface. You'll see I'll prop for an octopus that isn't CGI so it's inflated and looks really cheap. I think that could possibly get better with a larger budget With more viewership or if they already have the budget from the other series then they need to up their prop game. Watch this without the expectation that it is SVU and just a brand new show and I think you'll have the same outlook as I did.

I just wanted to say a big Thank You to Christopher Meloni for coming back to Law and Order. You are such a great actor and I think that it is AWESOME that your role as Detective Stabler has been revived. You were made to play this role. I look forward to seeing this spin off series doing really well and continuing for many years to come. Well done Sir.

Love, love, love. Die hard L&O will probably not like the newer approach (new in a sense that it differs from L&O). But I love how this built on the current police show aesthetics and it's finding its own style. Being inclusive will always get a few folks mad, but THIS is a great direction. I hope the continue to be bold and give Stabler a solid team. Lol.

Great to see Stabler back. Totally enjoyed this first episode, it lived up to the hype. Will definitely be watching.

Stabler is back! The show starts off great. I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes. My only criticism is Dylan McDermott as a mob boss? Terrible.

I guess I'm in the minority here. Had a challenging time trying to follow the plot line. Stabler's series will not fare as well as Benson's SVU because he doesn't have the interesting and charasmatic cast members and co-law enforcement people as Benson has. Did enjoy seeing the ferris wheel in Coney Island, though, as I used to ride it when I was a kid.

I haven't watched any series in the L&O franchise in years, but wanted to give Law and Order: Organized Crime a try. I'm coming in kind of blind. I have no idea how Stabler's and Benson's relationship evolved, and don't know anything about why Stabler left. I didn't even watch the SVU lead in episode. After two episodes I wasn't hooked, but it showed promise.

Christopher Meloni is an amazing actor, but I've never really cared for the character of Elliot Stabler. Dylan McDermott is very strong cast against type as a bad guy - a mob boss.

I like that this first mini-season is focusing on a single case. But unless they have really pulled the wool over my eyes the outcome is pretty predictable. The show seems to resort to a lot of common archetypes and tropes from other organized crime dramas. The bad guy's updated approach to the family business is a fresh coat of paint, but I'm not seeing enough original ideas so far to get me excited. I kept remembering "Wise Guy", a much stronger series that focused on organized crime.

It was really just the performances that kept me watching. But it turned out that was enough.

Two more episodes in and I found Meloni's performance riveting and compelling. I'm hooked. He convincingly portrays a man who is suffering from PTSD after the death of his wife in a manner that is frustrating and heart-wrenching. It's an admirably nuanced performance. This is not a tough guy that we've seen before. Not a Bruce Willis every man in over his head, not a Clint Eastwood or Stallone superman who is always in control. This is a guy that visibly wears the burden of the trauma that he suffered. It weighs on him but not in some overwrought over the top emotional breakdown. This is a guy who's hurting and who conveys his pain visibly. He knows he's in trouble but he's conflicted. He wants help but he doesn't know how to accept it even when it's offered. It's an Emmy-worthy performance. If he doesn't at least get a nomination it would be a shame.

Like many others, I was skeptical. You can't go home again, it's true. The first few episodes weren't for me but I stayed with it and just having finished the 7th episode, all I can say is DAMN, this show is good. It isn't SVU. It isn't early-aughts family-man Stabler. Some people are complaining about the topics covered in this show, but all L&O shows have always dealt with current issues going on in the country and the issues in this show are unfortunately a part of what's going on in the country. Give this show a fair shake if you're gonna watch it. I see many reviews from April of people bashing it, and I almost would have agreed back then but each week it gets better!

I'm the first to admit, the first two episodes were kinda dry. Despite the slow start, we hung in and continued to watch until it became the most anticipated tv show of our tv watching week. The cast does a really good job; you'll love to hate the bad guys and cheer for the good guys. That's just how a cop show should be. This show isn't like your typical episodic L&O series, but give it chance and it will soon grab your attention.

I love elliots return and the show could be great. I just want to know when hackers became 20 year old hot chicks and not guys that look like Frohike from the xfiles.

This show is really good I give it 10 stars one of best new show of 2021 cant wait to see more eps of this show. It worth to which this show.

Why is everyone praising this?! It was not that good at all... even like SVU the acting is barley mediocre and the story lines are insanely ridiculous and I'm sure the way it's going the stories are going to be more and more into racism and gender issues and blah blah- cuz why not? It's 2021.

This has turned in to a never ending soap opera with miserable, unlikable characters that have overstayed their welcome. Get some fresh stories and characters and get back to the tried and true L&O formula that has worked well for decades.

I can see that my opinion of this program is different from previous ones. I respect their opinions. I have to say that I am a fan of Christoper Meloni and the Elliot Stabler character. I lost interest in SVU when he left and that is not to deminish the others of SVU. Sometimes when a long time key player leaves a show the dynamics of the show and the chemistry of the cast is thrown off balance and it takes a while to recover. I think the cast of L&O: OC is a good group and I am also a fan of Dylan McDermott although he is the villian in this program. As it is said, a good villain is what makes a show work. It is good to see Stabler back and I hope the network gives the show time to hit its stride.

The return of Christopher Meloni makes everyone step up their game -- the writing, the directing, and even the acting. With Meloni, probably the most talented of the SVU acting ensemble, to bounce off of, Mariska Hargitay improves several notches over her version of Benson the past few seasons. The result is a crossover that works much better than anything SVU has attempted in years.

Still, there are some issues. For starters, they plagiarize the Ferris wheel scene from The Third Man. I mean, they even used the "dots" reference about people! Seriously??? They also seem to steal a lot from Daniel Craig's last two Bond movies -- the look, the sound, and even the clothes. There are moments where from a distance Meloni looks like he's dressed as Bond in Skyfall, and the exceptionally loud music score seems inspired, too.

It's too early to tell how good Organized Crime will be, in part because it looks like it's going to be serialized. To me, that's not a good thing for the Law and Order franchise, though by this point, they may be running out of ideas.

This series also continues the whole "woke" sensibility. All of the Law and Orders shows have been noticeably poor when it comes to having Asian American characters, especially in the main cast. Given how there's finally some attention about Asian Americans in the media it's only a matter of time before they scramble to add some Asian Americans to the cast.

Let's see...bad acting, bad writing, bad production values, recycled stories. Did I miss anything? Yes. I missed some other show that the negative reviewers watched. Organized Crime is another law enforcement show, so it's going to have good guys and bad guys. Maybe the PC crowd wants to cancel the word "criminal" because it's judgmental?

We know who Stabler is, so we don't need a slow setup. We immediately know what the stakes are, and we can see that his character has evolved since SVU. I have no complaints about this show, and will happily continue to watch it.

I was really looking forward to this but after 2 episodes have to say it is dull, badly written and poorly acted. Giving up.

I have been a fan of Law and Order since the original. I watched every SVU up until Stabler left. I was excited for this show. It's alright, it's slowly getting better (especially with Benson guest starring), but it HAS to be said that there is just no match for the chemistry between them. They just need to work/be together. Period. I hope somehow they figure that out. They're epic.

I was very saddened when Christopher Meloni left, now I'm ecstatic that he's back!!!! , he brings all of his baggage with him, the thrill, intensity, and action. The original action is back. Looking forward to more exciting episodes.

The fresh Law & Order spin-off "Organized Crime" brings back Elliot Stabler, who after 273 episodes in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" returns to the NYPD to battle organized crime after a devastating personal loss. However, the city and police department have changed dramatically in the decade he's been away, so he must adapt to a criminal justice system in the midst of its own moment of reckoning. The series follows Stabler's journey to find absolution while rebuilding his life. It has a strong Daniel Craig's Bond movie vibe with the look, the sound, and even the clothes. Sadly the series is a collection of nostalgia for the long-time viewers of Law & Order, so if you are not familiar with previous shows, then the plot line and character are almost impossible to follow. It feels rushed, but everything screams quality TV, so even tho it is hard to actually understand anything, you are compelled to keep watching.

It was a great show packed with action, tension and amazing character development. Love this for Stabler's character, who got his own shot to thrive and explore himself more (both as a cop and as a person).

Should've had Vincent D'Onofrio playing the lead role. It would make so much more sense!

Law & Order shows used to have a grounded feel to them. That however has long been thrown out and this show is comic book level of ridiculous. The Wheatley character is a straight up comic villain with his eccentric personality and the BS he gets away with. The relationship with his family is laughably absurd. Season 2 episode 10 this show has gone completely off the rails with the nonsense hacking and having Wheatley getting direct access to the governor of New York. This show is made for the people who love Marvel movies.
