Amid the cosy repeats and cranberry-stuffed cookery shows on TV over the next few weeks are a few gems. There’s no Sherlock or Charlie Brooker’s TV Wipe this year, but there are plenty of treats, not least the return of The League Of Gentlemen for a three-part anniversary series and Peter Capaldi’s last hurrah in the Tardis in the Doctor Who Christmas episode.

Whatever it is, I know I wouldn’t be able to look away.

Adam Klein has put his money where his mouth is.
After walking away with the $1 million prize on Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X, the 25-year-old homeless shelter manager donated $100,000 to Stand Up To Cancer.
But it didn’t stop there.
After Klein spoke publicly on the season finale of Survivor, the public began donating, as well. “From the finale, the public donated over $160,000,” he tells People. “There were over 1,900 unique donors, 90 percent of which were new donors to Stand Up To Cancer.”
Additionally, the Bristol-Myers Squibb Company matched the public donations, up to $100,000. “That’s $360,000 that is going toward cancer research.

The Crystal Maze: first official picture
Here it is, the first official look at presenter Richard Ayoade in some posh togs for the revived series of The Crystal Maze, due to arrive on Channel 4 this June.
Feast your eyes on this:
Using Den of Geek's renowned fashion nous, we can tell you that Mr Ayoade is sporting a hot raspberry corduroy suit which has been paired with a natty white lace-up ankle boot and an entomologically themed shirt. With a collar. He's probably wearing socks too, but you'll have to imagine those. Stripes, maybe?
You may also notice that Ayoade is standing in front of the new-look Crystal Dome with fancy light displays running around its facets that are almost as snazzy as his outfit. Magic.
The Crystal Maze will return for a new series
It's official. The Crystal Maze will be returning to Channel 4 for a full, twenty-episode series including a handful of charity celebrity specials .
The series was commissioned following the overwhelmingly positive response to last year's Stand Up To Cancer celebrity edition (and no doubt, the ongoing success of the ace Crystal Maze Experience in London and soon, Manchester).
Presenting this time around will be new Maze Master Richard Ayoade, confirmed to be taking over from Stephen Merchant. Well-loved for Gadget Man, The It Crowd, The Mighty Boosh and directing feature films The Double and Submarine, Ayoade is a mighty fine choice.
The new series will be filmed at a purpose-built 30,000 square foot maze in Bristol created by the original Crystal Maze designer James Dillon.

Manchester, start the fans please!
The crowd-funded incarnation of The Crystal Maze as a live, interactive experience launched with huge success in North London earlier this year.
Just off Angel Tube Station, teams of eight can don matching bomber jackets and make their way through a recreation of Richard O’Brien and Mumsie’s domain, solving puzzles and nabbing crystals along the way before spending a minute or so stuffing as many bits of flying gold cellophane into a letter box as they can.
