Shad (Imogene Coca) is missing spending time with her mother, whom she hasn't seen since her marriage to Gronk (Joe E. Ross) many years ago. Hector (Jack Mullaney) explains the concept of a visit and she calls via drum for her. Mother Krek (a duel role by Imogene Coca) arrives and is pleased to see everyone- including Gronk, much to the stranded astronauts' surprise. The children, Breer (Pat Cardi) and Mlor (Mary Grace), soon become upset with Mother Krek's interference. She makes Breer wear clothes that his friends make fun of him for, and chases away Mlor's date. Gronk is irritated after given chores. The family becomes upset with Mac (Frank Aletter) and Hector for suggesting the idea. Gronk moves into the astronauts' cave and they realize they must try to resolve the issue. Their idea is to get her a husband and after a talk with Shad they bring over the only eligible bachelor in the village, the very old and mostly blind butcher Lom (Andy Albin). She throws him out of the cave (literally) and after seeing the unhappiness she has caused the family, she leaves for her village in the middle of the night. Mac, Hector, Shad, and Gronk search for her in the jungle and when it looks as if she's been eaten by a giant cuckoo-wuckoo bird they have second thoughts. It makes Gronk wonder, if Shad can have her mother over...
I'll allude to the trivia section and note that it appears Imogene Coca's voice is dubbed as Mother Krek. However, at times it appears like a voice Imogene Coca could produce and at other times it does sound like prolific voice actress June Foray (Rocky the Flying Squirrel) who is still with us in January 2017 at age 99. This is an engaging episode with touches of comedy and a plot that will always remain relevant.
