Overall good.
masa-810616 October 2021
It was a solid episode. Peta makes a wonderful nuanced villain. We had some wonderful SF scenes some very good development with Kara and Lena and of course moving forward with Dansen storyline.

The bad: Way too much William. His participation in this episode was completely unnecessary and it was very blatant they were trying to make us like him. It did the opposite, I dislike him more. Stop wasting time on this character, it's hurting the story.

Good episode

Nxyly is turning to be one of my favorite villains. I couldn't help laughing in her scenes this ep. Peta makes her incredibly nuanced that is easy to feel for Nxyly sometimes. Loved the Dansen scenes... I love them so much. Take William out of the love interest folder and he's a much better character.

Good Episode but...
nailzag6 October 2021
Good episode, but inserting william too much was late, we don't care enough about him f. But it was a solid episode, within the totem arc, and fun to watch. No giant cats or dragons with bad cgi, good point. I really like Lena. And the end with the adoption plot was to fill the heart.

Warning: Spoilers
A few episodes ago kara told alex she didn't want to be alone anymore with a sad face (just after lena telling her she was going out of town looking for information about her mother), now lena is back and kara is not alone anymore, las episode kara felt happy and hopeful and now in this one she was making lena laugh and eating potstickers, lena is her perfect partner and the writers are treating her like a love interest.

In the middle of the episode kara and lena had their differences, lena reminded kara that it's not ok to do whatever it takes to win, that they have to do the right thing- lena is kara's humanity.

And also kara said she believed in lena. And just last episode lena said she believed in kara

if they are not going to make them a couple then all this is just cruel.

Alex's motherhood, Morgana Pendragon
LenaLuthor996 October 2021
Lena reminds me of Morgana Pendragon

I am very happy for Alex that she will finally achieve her dream of becoming a mother in the next episodes.

William is forced into the series and does not need to be present, especially when he takes the privacy of Kara and Lena from them.

We need more interaction from Kara and Lena.

They Aren't Even Trying Anymore

Warning: Spoilers
Supergirl throws a bullet back at a criminal which would have killed him in the comics. She is painfully slow and Gillian with power has the same power level as her. At this point it doesn't even matter what powers heroes or villains have if everyone is at the same power level. Alex can fight hand to hand with powered folks. Normal people can fight the "Superfriends", WTH? This is why DC is losing to Marvel.

Shockingly Great Episode For This Season
TheReaper6756 October 2021
The last 2 episodes (The Gauntlet and Magical Thinking) of this season have been surprisingly great. I've been impressed by the quality improvement and how well the writing and CGI have been. They finally showed Kara embracing her role as a leader and had her giving instructions to her team. I'm very interested in the totem storyline as I was in LOT S3.

Let's start with Lena, she has been a very nice addition to the team and I enjoyed her storyline involving her powers. The debate with Kara & Lena was handled very well as it showed them willing to do anything at any costs to ensure Nyxly couldn't get a hold of the totem. This is something that The Flash writers would never do and it was so satisfying seeing this play out. Their friendship was strong and so great to see I hope there's more Kara/Lena dynamic like there was in s3/4

Martian Manhunter and Dreamer were also fantastic in this episode. We got to see J'onn finally use his other abilities and phasing to rescue people. Also Dreamer showed us her true fighting skills and how great she is in the battlefield.

The absence of Brainy being replaced by William was unfortunate and noticeable, and he was too centered in the episode. At least he wasn't annoying and he was bearable so there's that.

Kelly and Alex.... Ok I liked how they set up the storyline to adopt Esme but Kelly shouldn't be out in the field... she never once punched or shoved anyone in the episode and we were left to visualize how she did it which I didn't like. Instead of setting up Kelly's storyline they should've focused on Lena's but it's my opinion I guess.

Overall, this episode was pretty good easily deserving 8+. I'm rating it a bit higher because trolls like to rate most Supergirl episode really low. I just hope they keep up the effort and S6 could very well be the best season of Supergirl, surpassing S3/4.

Mostly amazing, with some terrible thrown in
uciebila6 October 2021
To sum up: amazing scenes with the core characters & Nyxly, but inserting William into the fold this late in the game felt very out of place and forced.

There was so many amazing scenes between the core characters, and it was nice to see some dynamics strengthen like Lena and Nia's. They did well to include some light hearted and comedy moments whilst still grounding it in serious battles. Every single Dansen scene had me yelling, no spoilers but I LOVED THEM.

Peta did an amazing job at Nyxly this episode, her character gets some hilarious scenes and though I don't care much for her as a villain I am loving the actress.

Katie and Melissa once again knocked their scenes as Lena and Kara out of the park, I am loving their journey this season and seeing their dynamic as the two key people able to fight the big bad.

The bad... I missed Jesse as Brainy this episode, it seems each week one actor has to be missing likely for covid restrictions and it does feel like an empty space.

And William. I understand what they were trying to do with him and this storyline, but it just feels so forced. When we have so little time left to wrap up the core characters storylines I'd rather the time and focus be spent on them, instead of building up other characters. I didn't enjoy him telling several women how to do their jobs/roles over the course of the episode, but at least they are finally writing him consistently.

This Season Continues To Get Better!
TheReaper6756 October 2021
Wow I'm very impressed with season 6 so far and how great in quality the last 2 episodes have been. This episode is also fantastic as the CGI quality was also improved drastically from the past seasons, and Kara's flying was showcased truly well!

The highlight was probably the debate with Lena & Kara when they were discussing whether or not to "cross the line" regarding the humanity totem. It was so satisfying at the end when they ended up going through with it as The Flash writers would've never allowed that to happen.

The Nyxly arc was also interesting as always and in this instance we got to see her overflowed with emotion and having to get rid of the totem. Now the results are: Supergirl - 1, Nyxly - 1

I wish we got to see Brainy and less of William, but at least he wasn't too annoying in this episode and was bearable. So glad to see John using his other abilities and Dreamer using her fighting skills.

Overall extremely well put out episode easily deserving 8+. To balance the results I'm giving this episode a 10. "Hope" fully (💀) s6 continues to be outstanding and could very well be the best season of Supergirl beating s3/4.

Solid episode
FCO-MX6 October 2021
Really good episode. I'm really liking how they're mostly focusing on their core characters in this second part of the season. The pacing for the development of their stories is going great so far. I liked how they wrapped the episode with both Dansen family(?) that non verbal comunication they had, was top notch acting. And the scene with SC was fantastic. This is what we were missing.

My only complaint: they were forcing William in too much scenes and it showed. His dynamic with the rest of the cast clashes. His scenes could be easily done much better with Brainy. Who actually has history with all of them. Secondly, I didn't really like how he treated the SF, how he mansplained magic and family to LENA of all people, and how he treated his female boss. Guess being misogynistic is his one constant trait retained from all the personality transplants he has been through.

Quite good, some inconsistencies
pauli_gomez14 October 2021
This was a very good episode, with interesting dialogues, action, magic.

I did not like the subplot about the little girl, it felt rushed and poorly done. And I don't think the public cares too much about William, but those were minor complaints. My major complain are the inconsistencies, like why a bunch of normal people would be a problem for the Heroes? Why not isolate and lock them? Why Kelly decided to wear the very identifiable bracelet as Guardian and as Kelly? The girl could see it! Or William! Try to make an effort to keep your identitiy a secret, girl. And...where did Brainy go? I mean, he was mentioned in the first scene, and then vanished from mind.

In any case, this was a very fun, interesting episode.

Meh?
jcome147 October 2021
It seems like cw staff must be writing these highly rated reviews. I feel like they wrote blind spot to make the rest of the season seem better in comparison. This has because a show that I hate watch. If it weren't the last season and I weren't a completist I would have given up a long time ago.

Good but...
El-SS586 October 2021
It was a great episode. Really enjoyed the action sequences and the development with all the characters. Except William. Why are they shoving him everywhere? Nobody cares and it's just wasting time for more important characters. That's the only disappointment I have with the episode.

Really good, the director did a great job.

Bit Of A Mixed Bag.........
Honesticedragon6910 October 2021
I like the idea of giving Nxey the Humanity Totem, I enjoyed the Results of it. But why is it that only Kara Yu hat is the one who Feels Emotions from Nexy and not the other way around it seems? And unless I'm missing something I don't really Remember Lena telling everyone that she has Magic not do I remember every one Reacting to it, nor do I remember ever experimenting with it just to make sure or whatever. And as for Andrea I found her really annoying in this Episode to the point where she comes off as the 'Do It My Way Or Else' type. I Really Hope that's not the path of her character, either that or just planning or replacing her at or by the end of series. And I also find the B Plot of this Episode really a waste it's just their for the Filler for this Episode. And since when Supergirl Kill? Because when she caught that Bullet and Tossed it back at that one guy he's definitely dead although that was BA. And I just Hate how this Totem also Turns People Violent just like with the Courage Totem. And speaking of I Agree with one of the other Reviewers on this episode on hare, how is it that Normal Non Powered People are able to take on the Superfriends all of a sudden. As of right now I just don't really care for Killy Guardian or whatever she's calling her superhero self. I do like the part where Willem basically tells Andrea Off. But sadly he got Punished for it and not only that he just stood there and took it, and that's the Downside of it.

I love it
glzdenisse7 October 2021
Best episode ever. I love it completely, for first time it felt good, the characters, the action scenes, supergirl, Lena, William all really good And Alex and Kelly thinking about adopt the little kid was good but but without lasting a long time on screen I think they lasted the right time, as secondary characters when they lasted a long time on screen sometimes I find it boring, I like it when they give more importance to the main character Karla / supergirl.
