Politics, indeed
"The Triumphant Return of General Rouge" is a sequel to "The Glorious Team Batista" (2008) with Taguchi and Shiratori acting as internal affairs for the hospital again.
Unlike typical mystery and suspense of solving murders in the first film, "General Rouge" focuses more on corporate politics of the hospital, which is just fine, but I felt the movie itself also serves a political purpose in an attempt to solve the doctor shortage in Japan. There were some blatant over-glorification of lifesavers in hospital, and a cheesy ending.
Acting was excellent in this film, with inconsistent Takeuchi Yuuko acting perfectly for the role, and wonderful casting of Sakai Masato as "General Rouge". However, Abe Hiroshi's appearance was very late, and played an extremely minor role. A little fan service with the "Team Batista" cast was nice though.
Overall, it is quite watchable, but don't expect it to be as good as the first installment.
