A young Mike Grady appears in this episode. Well he was 30 years old at the time. Younger than when he played young Barry at the age of 40 years old in Last of the Summer Wine.

It is almost half the cast of Citizen Smith with Cheryl Hall playing Kathleen.

Shorty as spruced himself up as he is taking Kathleen out for dinner at the Chinese restaurant. In order to impress Kathleen, Shorty has ordered too much food. Luckily his brother Randolph and a drunken mate turns up, spikes the drinks, eats the food and Randolph cops off with Kathleen. Shorty ends up with the drunken mate.

Burt Kwouk livens up the episode as the restaurant manager. It is not really funny, some of the so called humour belongs in the 1970s and you really are left with a bittersweet ending as Shorty counts how lucky he is to his no good brother.
