‘Inside No. 9’ Star Reece Shearsmith Joins Ruth Wilson, Saoirse Ronan In Untitled Searchlight Murder Mystery
Exclusive: Reece Shearsmith, the British actor and writer behind cult BBC series Inside No. 9, has taken a role alongside Ruth Wilson, Saoirse Ronan, and Adrien Brody in Searchlight’s Untitled Murder Mystery.

Filming has wrapped on the feature, which is helmed by Tom George, the director of BAFTA-winning BBC comedy This Country, which is currently being remade by Paul Feig for Fox. The picture also stars Sam Rockwell and David Oyelowo.

Shearsmith co-created and starred in UK comedy The League of Gentlemen, while he also co-created anthology comedy Inside No. 9 with Steve Pemberton. The BBC show returns for Season 6 in the coming weeks. Other roles have seen him appear in Doctor Who, Shaun of the Dead, and High-Rise.

Aside from Inside No. 9, Shearsmith can next be seen in Ben Wheatley’s under-the-radar horror pic In The Earth, which premieres in June.

Exclusive: Actress Ruth Wilson has signed with UK-based talent agency Hamilton Hodell, as she continues to be repped by CAA in Hollywood.

Wilson, the Golden Globe & Olivier Award-winning star of HBO’s His Dark Materials, Mrs Wilson, The Affair, and BBC’s Luther, will be repped by the agency in all areas. She just wrapped HBO Max’s Oslo, opposite Andrew Scott. The Bartlett Sher-directed drama is produced by Steven Spielberg, Kristie Macosko, Marc Platt, and Adam Siegel.

Wilson has continued to produce and star in her own material, recently completing True Things, a drama co-written and directed by Harry Wootliff. She produced it alongside The Bureau, BFI and BBC Films.

Wilson next gets underway starring in Searchlight’s Untitled Murder Mystery, the Tom George-directed drama that stars Sam Rockwell, Saoirse Ronan, David Oyelowo, and Adrien Brody.

Ruth Wilson Set To Join Untitled Searchlight Murder Mystery Helmed By Tom George
Exclusive: Ruth Wilson is set to co-star in Searchlight’s Untitled Murder Mystery, the Tom George-directed drama that stars Sam Rockwell, Saoirse Ronan, David Oyelowo, and Adrien Brody. Production will begin imminently.

Wilson, who starred in the Showtime drama The Affair, is currently in production on HBO’s Oslo, directed by Bartlett Sher and produced by Steven Spielberg, Kristie Macosko, Marc Platt, and Adam Siegel. Wilson recently wrapped True Things, which she starred in and produced alongside Jude Law.

She will next film the third season of His Dark Materials, reprising her role as Mrs. Coulter.

Hollywood stays on track with UK shoots despite tighter Covid quarantine rules
Warner Bros’ ’The Flash’ and Searchlight’s ’Untitled Murder Mystery’ will both start on schedule.

US productions shooting in the UK including Warner Bros’ The Flash starring Ezra Miller and Searchlight Pictures’ Untitled Murder Mystery with Saoirse Ronan were understood to be going ahead as it emerged the UK government is poised to introduce tighter international border controls for incoming visitors from high-risk destinations, including a compulsory two-week hotel quarantine.

This will mirror the quarantine requirements already in place for other international production hubs including Australia and New Zealand.
