FX’s A Murder at the End of the World limited series finale has arrived, and with it the shocking revelation of the killer’s identity. Episode seven, “Retreat,” begins with all the guests gathered 164’ underground in Andy’s suite. Andy (Clive Owen) talks about why Ray – his AI assistant – chose that depth, revealing it was because Andy asked him to protect his family from anything that could happen on the surface of the earth.
As Andy continues to discuss Ray, he brings the conversation back around to how someone is trying to tarnish his reputation. Andy declares that he’s going to keep everyone there until he figures out who’s setting him up.
Lu Mei (Joan Chen) didn’t betray him and is still confused about why he invited her.

The FX network seems to be in the anthology market to stay. After the recent release of Ryan Murphy’s latest “American Horror Stories” series, actor B.J. Novak is entering the genre with his new series, “The Premise.”
Here’s the synopsis according to FX: “‘The Premise’ is a bold and provocative half-hour anthology of standalone stories about the times we live in. The curated collection of character-driven episodes challenges our shared morality tales, choosing art over argument, as it engages with the most relevant and meaningful issues of the modern era.”
The first trailer for the series dropped on Friday and includes several of the A-list actors that will be telling Novak’s various stories. “Dear Evan Hansen” actor Ben Platt will be doing an episode playing a “white, woke, twenty-something ally to social justice causes” who discovers his poorly filmed sex tape provides evidence against a police officer in a disputed incident.

“Atlanta” Season 3 may not have a release date just yet, but its release window is narrowing. On Friday morning, during FX’s presentation at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, FX Chariman John Landgraf announced that the latest season of Donald Glover’s hit series would debut during the first half of 2022.
“We haven’t locked down the scheduling for Season 3 yet,” Landgraf said during his virtual Q&a session. “It’s finished shooting. It shot primarily in Europe, actually, and it’s in post-production, but it’s a lengthy post-production process. Part of the reason it’s lengthy is because they’re in production on Season 4 right now in Atlanta.”
Landgraf went on to say that all the scripts for Season 4 have been written, and he “adores” what’s been crafted for both upcoming seasons.

Vin Diesel vehicle “Muscle,” Alexander Payne’s “The Holdovers,” and the Zoe Kravitz-directed “Pussy Island” have proved early sales standouts at a contained virtual Pre-Cannes Screenings whose pre-sales market says a lot about the resilient vitality and ever greater complexity of the international film business.
