Very wholesome

I love that this anime showed that it was normal for boys and adults to like cute things, that plush toys and cute characters weren't meant for just kids. The five main characters having to overcome their own difficulties also showed what the power of friendship is capable of. Yuu is probably my favourite character, followed by Kouta, mostly because I could relate to them the most. Overall, the progression of the plot was good because there was some tension and conflicts that needed to be resolved, adding more depth to the show. The ending was really funny honestly, and I like how everything was wrapped up nicely.

A series with a message that is never "in-your-face"

I love this show, and I also love Sanrio too. Like Shunsuke (Shushu), I love Hello Kitty, and like Ryo, I love Little Twin Stars. But I also love Pekkle the Duck, Pochacco the Pup and Monkichi the Monkey. I didn't think of this series as being commercial or whatever. But I like that it shows people need a group to truly express themselves in order to feel comfortable with themselves.

I do love how they all have stories behind why our male leads love the characters they like. Kouta's backstory almost had me crying, though I never cry at sad scenes. Overall, all I have to say is that this anime series is another favorite series with a message that is never "in-your-face." Like, I'm 36 years old, and I still love cartoons and characters that are said to be meant for kindergarteners, and there's no shame in it. Also, I really wish the series in on North American DVD.
