Gripping

Warning: Spoilers
This is a very dramatic episode of the show, that sees Viv get caught up in a prison raid, with Chris and Ray nearly dying in the process.

It's nail biting stuff at times, very different from the format that 'Ashes' has used throughout its run and clung too perhaps a bit too closely, but is all the better for it.

The 'Alex wants to go home' story has been side-lined in favour of 'who is Gene Hunt', meaning again there's an awful lot for the writers to tie up in the remaining two episodes, but lets not take away from the fact that this is stellar entertainment, and gripping from start to finish.

A riot breaks out at a Prison, after a clash, Viv is taken hostage.

This is one of the standout episodes, it is incredibly tense, gripping, revealing and intriguing. Once again it highlights how this show went against type, and ended with a great series.

Nice to see Viv put centre stage, too often the reliable man in the background. Everyone is great, but Stanley Townsend is absolutely terrific as the villain at The Prison.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the relationship between Alex and Hunt, her total distrust for him reaches boiling point here. The San Tyler references once again were intriguing.

Great ending, very chilling, very bleak.

Alex refers to The Strangeways riots, which took place in 1990.

Brilliant, 9/10.

The plot thickens regarding Sam Tyler. Good writing and acting but not so music on the music front in this one. A regular character whom is a West Ham fan leaves in this episode, with only two episodes left. If only they had been a fan of Birmingham City then they might have been able to Keep Right On To The End Of The Road.

Really???

Warning: Spoilers
I loved that show as a série but the third season is bollocks! The three musketeers are still strong and interesting but drake is boring! And really you are getting fired for less than that... The Jim character is boring as the obvious villain. And I don't think the references to Sam in that ´année were interesting... you want to kill your série which was brillant funny and full of imagination you inject morals and wiping character like drake and a psychopath like Jim that is supposed to be a temporary boss... Really guys???
