- Will encourages the Glee Club to express themselves using the music of Lady Gaga. Meanwhile, Tina embraces her inner Goth.
- Open with Figgins concerned about Tina's goth-style dress and tells her she must adhere to a more conservative dress code. He seems to associate goth with vampires and seems to believe vampires are real.
Finn is surprised with a party announcing that he and his mom are moving into Burt and Kurt's place. He isn't pleased by the news.
At practice Tina is bummed about wearing more clothing that doesn't express who she is inside. Rachel had done background research and figured out Vocal Adrenalin will be performing Lady Gaga at regionals. The consensus is that doing the theatric Gaga is the perfect way to beat them. Will's response is to give everyone a GaGa assignment this week.
Cut to Rachel, Mercedes and Quinn sneaking into a VA practice. Rachel is impressed by Shelby's coaching. To teach the group what theatricality is really about, Shelby performs "Funny Girl." Rachel leaves her seat in the rafters during the performance and gets a closer look. Rachel walks up the stage and says "Ms. Corcoran? I'm Rachel Berry. I'm your daughter."
Shelby and Rachel talk. Shelby tells her she regretted giving her up and realized at sectionals she wanted Rachel to find her. Rachel tells a few stories from her childhood and Shelby seems uncomfortable. She apologizes and tells Rachel "I'll call you" before leaving.
Finn goes to Will and tells him he's not interested in doing Lady Gaga and suspects the rest of the guys feel the same. He thinks they're always doing what the girls want and Will agrees.
Puck tells Quinn he wants to name the baby girls Jackie Daniels. She's happy that since she's giving up the baby she won't have to deal with him on these kind of issues.
Kurt and Tina come to school in full-on Gaga regalia. Kurt gets into an argument with a few football players who say they are tired of looking at the Gaga outfits.
At practice the girls tell the rest of the team about Shelby and Rachel. Rachel shows up and assures them she's not leaving them for VA. This leads into a performance of "Bad Romance" by the girls and Kurt.
Finn has a run-in with several football players in the bathroom. They don't like his involvement in Glee and reference his moving in with Kurt.
Rachel shows up at VA practice. She shows Shelby her mediocre Gaga outfit and asks for help sewing.
Rachel shows up at Glee rehearsal with a fantastic outfit -- "My mom made it." Will introduces the boys, who are dresses as Kiss. They perform "Shout It Out Loud."
Kurt runs into the football players again. Kurt asks Finn to help him out, but Finn isn't too excited about the idea. Finn wonders why Kurt doesn't try to blend in. Kurt tries to help him remove his Kiss makeup and Finn smacks his hand away. Finn leaves and Kurt yells at him to grow up.
Will meets with Shelby. He tells her he's worried about Rachel. Will is concerned Rachel is more committed to the reunion than Shelby. Shelby says she wanted a daughter, but isn't prepared for an adult. Shelby doesn't think Rachel needs a mother and Will advises her to tell Rachel how she feels.
Kurt makes over the bedroom they are sharing in a theatric way. This leads to an argument where Finn complains about having to adjust how he does things because Kurt is gay. He thinks Kurt is still interested in him and starts referring to various things in the room as "faggy." Burt walks down during the tirade and calls Finn out for using essentially a gay slur. Burt said he thought Finn was different. He says he can't have that kind of "poison" in his house and even though it might cost him Finn's mother Finn is no longer allowed to stay in their home.
Finn wants to talk to Kurt about what happened. He says he really is different but Kurt doesn't want to hear it. Puck gets up in front of the group and talks about his father not being around. He acknowledges that Jackie Daniels isn't a great name for a baby girl and brings up the rest of the guys to sing "Beth." Afterwards Puck suggests the name Beth and asks if he can be there for the birth. A teary Quinn nods yes.
Shelby goes to see Rachel. Rachel says she knows Shelby is there to say good-bye. Shelby says anything they would share at this point would be confusing. Rachel says it is strange that she doesn't feel anything that resembles how a daughter should feel towards her mother. They agree to be friends and hug. Referencing a childhood story, Shelby gives her a water glass. The two perform a slow duet version of "Poker Face."
Tina scared Figgins into letting her wear what she wants by pretending to be a vampire.
Kurt is corned by the football players and appears about to be beaten up. Finn shows up in a red rubber dress to defend him. The rest of the Glee kids show up behind Finn to get his back and the two football players leave.
