Enjoyed it for the vertigo
greggman3 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The movie did one thing very well and that is make me feel vertigo. Reading some of the other reviews here I guess if you're a climber than you'll find it unbelievable. Me, I don't get climbing. Regardless of how unrealistic the movie is people do fall to their death and/or get seriously hurt so the risk is there and I felt it in this movie.

I did find the instagram/youtube stuff annoying but wasn't that the entire point, to be annoyed that Shiloh would take such risks just for clicks? On the other hand, once you start getting paid you might be tempted to take it up a notch.

One thing I didn't get, maybe I missed it, is why they didn't try a lineman's pole style to get down. Still, that didn't take away from the thrill.

Beck could have confronted her fears in therapy but here we are
Neptune1651 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Friend convinces friend to do something dangerous after a tragedy. Isn't this how THE DESCENT started? I think what kinda killed it for me was that I knew before I watched it that it was the same guy who made 47 Meters Down then as soon as we get to that scene and her friend starts acting differently I knew it was the exact same twist. I think the part that frustrates me about these movies is how you need to not apply logic. It can't be scary, because it's so stupid to go up that ladder with no plan b, not contacting someone about your climb, no one at the bottom in case of emergency. The list goes on. These are two stupid people who decided to do something incredibly. Stupid. So the tension is lost. It's no longer scary. It's pointless. So as a climber; this movie was technically wrong in almost all climbing aspects. And it all could have been fixed by asking a climber. Hell give them $100 for a consulting fee. To anyone thinking about making anything about a sport you don't know have extreme knowledge about; hire somebody in that sport. Don't make a skateboard movie without talking to skateboarders, don't make a football movie without talking to football players, and talk to climbers before you make a movie about climbing. The thing that I also find wrong with the movie is that they supposedly don't have cell-phone service when they're at max height but halfway down they have service! This is wrong because of the type of frequencies commonly used by cell-phones: VHF and UHF frequencies operate best at line of sight so the two girls really should have had even better cell-phone service at the height that they were at than at ground-level because they had no obstructions to the line-of-sight to a cell-phone network antenna! Oh well, I guess it's the movies which many times are not technically right!

I was terrified...
DeceptiveFox16 January 2023
I'd like to point out that I'm a horror buff, have seen probably around 1000 'scary movies', and have never come across anything like this. Give me killers/ghosts/clowns/sharks any day.

I will point out, I do have acrophobia to an extent. I'm fine with rides and roller coasters and things like that, but I start to sweat when I'm near a ledge or out in the open at an elevated level, like a rooftop.

I thought I'd give Fall a go, since I'd be comfortable on my couch...but I was very very wrong.

The imagery in the film is so intense that there were parts where I could only watch 10 to 15 minutes at a time before needing a break because my palms and soles of my feet were incredibly sweaty. It took me forever to actually finish the movie.

The acting is decent, and the story is pretty basic, but I've given the film a rating of 8 because no film has freaked me out as much as Fall did. Not Vertigo, not The Walk, not Skyscraper, not anything.

If you're fine with heights, you may find the movie a bit boring I would assume...but if you aren't fine with them, you're in for a bumpy ride.

Pucker up.
ryandgudgeon12 August 2022
If this movie does one thing well, it's building tension. There was times I was on the edge of my seat, clinched and sweaty, just imagining being up on that tower myself.

This is far from a, what I would call, a "critically good" movie. The visuals aren't top notch, especially in the beginning, but becomes more forgivable after the first scene, some of the dialogue and actions of the characters might make you scratch your head, and there are some major plot points that some might find to be predictable. The ending does feel pretty abrupt and I feel like we missed a couple good scenes on the cutting room floor in favor of run time.

All that being said, if you're a huge fan of survival thriller movies in the vein of 47 Meters Down, Frozen, etc. You would certainly have a good time with this flick. It does an excellent job of keeping you on edge throughout the whole movie, which is quite a feat, and something I haven't felt in a theater in awhile. It certainly has its flaws but it entertains remarkably well.

Sweaty palms alright
msn66493 September 2022
I kept asking myself why I watched this. It's so scary my hands were very sweaty, I couldn't believe it. Nothing has ever given me that reaction. They did an excellent job of filming for maximum fright effect. Don't watch if you have a weak heart or something. So a 15/10 stars for horror and seven for the whole movie. 600 characters?.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

The ending is a con!
vincentpoconnor8 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I watched Fall and immediately came to IMDB to see whether was as annoyed by the ending as I was, but no... nobody seemed to notice???? I found this movie to be quite enjoyable and there was genuine suspense even though some of the girls actions were questionable. The ending is a complete con though and it left me utterly frustrated. The whole point of watching to the end was to find out whether they manage to get down, and if so, how? We already know a massive section of the ladder had fell away from the tower which was one of the key plot points much earlier in the film. The end scene shows Becky sitting at the bottom safe and sound. I'd love to know how she made it down? Helicopter would have blown her off and there was a huge antenna in the way? Crane? Would have needed to be a big one? Nonsense and I feel conned.

test your acrophobia
ferguson-611 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Greetings again from the darkness. If you've ever wondered what a recurring nightmare would look like if filmed for the big screen, writer-director Scott Mann (HEIST, 2015) and co-writer Jonathan Frank are here to show you. Not much plot exists, and the bulk of the movie consists of two characters stuck in one place. Sounds pretty simple, right? Well I can tell you that my palms were sweaty and the tension was high.

The opening sequence immediately evokes memories of the spectacular documentary FREE SOLO (2018) featuring expert climber Alex Hannold. Becky (Grace Caroline Currey, SHAZAM!, 2019), her husband Dan (Mason Gooding, SCREAM, 2022), and their friend Hunter (Virginia Gardner, HALLOWEEN, 2018) are climbing the face of a mountain when tragedy strikes. We then flash forward 51 weeks and find Becky is a still-grieving recluse drowning her sorrows in booze and contemplating suicide. We aren't clued in as to how she has paid rent for the past year, but her frustrated dad (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) has had no luck getting her to "move on", and has called Hunter in to see if she can motivate Becky to rejoin society.

Hunter's big idea is for the two ladies to climb the 2000-foot tall B67 TV Tower, once billed as the tallest structure in the U. S., but now a long-abandoned relic. Hunter is the risk-taker of the two, and she has developed quite a following on her YouTube channel by filming her own risky stunts. The tower appears to be out in some desert just beyond a sign that warns, "No Trespassing - Danger of Death." Terrific camera work shows us the loose bolts, shaky tension lines, and rusty ladder once used for tower maintenance. In fact, the terrific camera work and the performances of the two actors are what drive home the terror we feel once they have reached the top and realize there is no way down. If your acrophobia hasn't shaken you enough, how about being stranded 2000 feet above the ground on a platform barely large enough for two people to sit? Your choices for dying include falling, dehydration, starvation, exposure, or being pecked by the local vultures attracted to the injuries sustained while climbing.

Resourcefulness involves cell phones with no reception, a pair of Chuck Taylors, a flare gun, and a new use for a sports bra ... somehow hardly noticeable once it's gone. The two climbers are trapped for most of the run time, turning this into quite a survival story. Mind games and psychology play a part once exhaustion sets in, and there are couple of twists, neither of which should surprise most viewers. While the tension created is commendable, one recurring irritant became a bit of a joke - the overuse of "Are you okay?" begins in the opening sequence and seems to be repeated every 4-6 minutes. If it were a drinking game, no viewer would remain conscious by the end of the film. Other than that, it's one of the better cinematic versions of a nightmare you're likely to find ... plus it leaves us with the inspiration: "If you're scared of dying, don't be afraid to live."

Opens in theaters August 12, 2022.

I said "nope" more watching Fall, than the actual movie Nope
Top_Dawg_Critic2 September 2022
I really don't have a fear of heights, but this film sure made me realize that I just wasn't high enough to get scared. Co-writer, producer and director Scott Mann did a superb job filming this smart little thriller so well, I got vertigo, dizzy and an upset stomach in some scenes. Don't get me started on my constant anxiety and elevated blood pressure watching this. It's constant edge of your seat moments with great cinematography and special effects, that you'll actually feel like you're stuck up there with them.

The writing was tight and cohesive with excellent character development that helped in the suspenseful scenes. The few twists and turns were well led up-to and perfectly executed, albeit somewhat predictable. The 107 min runtime flew by with the spot-on pacing. Casting and performances were convincing all around.

My biggest issue was the poor sound editing; towards the end, the score is so loud and overbearing, it muffles the actors dialogue. Aside from that and a few plot and technical issues, this is one of the better survival films I've seen in a long time. It's a well deserved 8/10 from me.

Sweaty Palms
Slarkshark2 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Even with it's many flaws, it makes a viewers hands and feet sweat profusely. The great cover art tells you exactly what to expect.

In my mind, the max that this kind of movie can attain is an 8/10. A movie where one is essentially stuck in one position for the majority of the film. The two that come to mind that did it best are '127 Hours' and 'The Shallows'.

Abundant issues arise from the lack of simple preparation for such a complex stunt. And then pretty much just the normal stuff that makes you call characters dumb or annoying in a movie like this. And that phone apparently has an eternal battery.

I had an early theory of taking out the red light so that it would be noticed and get replaced as soon as possible, but that didn't come to fruition. Thought it was a sure thing with what I believed to be a foreshadowing moment when they say it's there so planes don't hit the tower. Guess that would have been too easy.

The movie is also a case and point why I don't like social media "influencers".

Both deserved to die....of stupidity!
hooper-653823 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I have read 'climber reviews' and agree their 'plan' from lacking in essential equipment to not tellinga anyone where they were going was nonsense. They don't tie themselves together so one or both should have died in their sleep rolling off the platform. No way she could survive a huge tallon vulcher attack hanging on a slim pole with no life line. No one mentions the red beacon and the fact that once take out it hould signal someonoe to ASAP replace it given it is like a functioning lighthouse. No mention that the beacon must be monitored. Battery is life and death and she's watching video! And no last scene of her near ly expired when she hears the whirring sounds of a rescue helecoptor. After all we invest in viewing and no rescue scene.

Hard To Watch
forthetollferry13 August 2022
This movie was rather hard to watch, not because of the direction or acting, but just because of the sheer intensity of the story. It's not for the weak of heart. I wanted to look away several times rather than see what was going to happen. It's a pretty decent film, just know that if you're squeamish or acrophobic at all, you're probably going to be on the edge of your seat the whole time, probably not feeling too comfortable at times.

Better Than Expected - 7 stars
jp-483582 October 2022
I really had no expectations when I decided to watch this movie but aside from some of the usual predictable moments and boneheaded decisions by the two main characters, I actually enjoyed it. For me that was due to a few observations: 1) there were a few small twists in the plot which was a pleasant surprise especially in this type of movie genre and 2) the camera work/cgi effects which looked quite realistic and really gave you a sense of the height with a little vertigo feeling to boot. If you like this type of movie and don't suffer from major vertigo, this one is definitely worth a watch!

Main characters are too stupid to have lived to their 20ish birthday
storey9719 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Ok. Let me start by saying I am part of AMC Alist and thusbi go watch every movie that comes out. And I mean all of them. I use it as a way to turn my brain off and just sit back and suspend my thoughts and enjoy the show.

But this movie was just so badly thought out. The main characters should have died of from anything else just their shear stupidly.

I can believe a director makes a movie about climbing and has the leads wear climbing harnesses the entire movie, but are only ever clipped in for a few seconds of the movie. I'm couldn't stop wanting to scream at the screen to clip yourself in you dumbass. They don't clip in while climbing. The don't belay themselves down when they need to (they just hold the rope and climb down the rope). They don't clip in when they are being lifted up. They don't clip in when they reach the top and are just standing on a 5ft square platform. They don't tie themselves off to the tower when they try to sleep so they could just easily roll off (I mean have they at least not watched Hunger Games once).

Look I get these types of movies are just going for the oh my God they can fall at any second type feelings, but you can have that and still make it seem at least somewhat believable.

I definitely wouldn't waste money paying to see this one. I'd either wait until it came out on HBO, etc or go see it if you have the Alist type memberships and it doesn't cost you anything.

Surprisingly Tense Ride
jisforjoe12 August 2022
Fall is the kind of movie that's A) best the first time you see it and B) is most effective in theaters-the bigger the screen the better.

A lot of scenes genuinely made me feel the jelly legs you get from vertigo at great heights. The tension and escalating desperation was really well shot-it was an enjoyable ride. I don't see Fall being as effective streaming at home or watching on a small screen or mobile device.

The plot twist (which is satisfying on a first watch) probably won't hit as hard in subsequent viewings, and it's not compelling enough to make me want to rewatch the movie with the knowledge of the twist to spot clues and details.

Fall Into Surprising Thrills, Acting Chills, and Stupidity That Ills
rgkarim12 August 2022
LIKES:

Fast Runtime: With a lot of experimental films, directors sometimes lose their ability to tell the story in a short amount of time and go to the three hour mark. Fortunately, Fall is not one of those films, doing very well to handle the entire ordeal in rough 84 minutes. The pacing is decent, finding good ways to utilize the moment to get character development while also keeping the suspenseful element strong. It's a nice mixture of the two elements and helps bring at least decent representation of both thrills and drama spills.

Great Musical Score: This movie is one of those where music really makes a difference at those key elements. Fall may not have the biggest or most unique track list, but it utilizes the limited song title quite well to really add the finesse and inspiration these scores do. Cherry Pie as a casual rock out moment and then as an inspiration cheer was quite fun and a good connecting point. While orchestral scores make up those killer finishing shots that are amazing across the board. There is not much I can say pass this, but perhaps Fall will at least make you want to listen to the 80s song again.

Message Is Powerful: So many movies these days are about delivering that gigantic message to hopefully inspire the "change" that we all "need." Fall has a couple of deep messages that do well to display some important topics, and most of them are pretty good. There is some trauma, no surprise right as these movies go, and how to handle these moments or at least the mindset some face, is decently glimpses in this film. Other moments like facing the fears, the will to survive, and pushing yourself are very big in this film, and there is surprising wisdom and class in the dialogue and filming to really show this message. It's target audience in particular should be inspired the most and find the words in particular worthy of being on your social media quotes.

Acting Is Good: This movie heavily focuses on two characters and the actresses are the ones to hold much of the attention of the film. Let's get this out of the way, they are very attractive, one the bosom blonde with that fiery energy, the other one delicate gorgeous and sensitive. With those superficial components out of the way, the girls are very good at displaying the qualities you need for this very focused movie. Morgan, for what little he is in it, does well with his time, and manages to deliver his few lines with fantastic abilities. Gardner is vibrant and playing the typical thriller type woman you see in these films. She's bold, she brings the one liners and meme looks that modern generations love, and of course representing the new generation of humans. She's bold, she talks a lot, and yet has some deeper layers that come out as the film progresses to help break the superficial mirror a bit. Yet it's Currey who claims my vote for best acting. As Becky, she really brings so many qualities that I grasped onto, her story deeper, more developed, and more realistic to help round out the character. Most of her acting is solid and sincere, and was the character that annoyed me the least with the direction that they took. Well done!

The Makeup: You can guess that trouble does eventually ensue if you have seen the trailers, which means the potential to suffer from the consequences. Fall is all about making the suffering look real, the make-up and effects solid as the girls gradually look dehydrated, exhausted and exposed to the element. It adds that suspense and experience effect, really selling to me just how miserable something like this would be if it happened. And when other things happen, they pull out some impressive tricks to make it believable.

Great Presentation: I can't say much about this, but let's just say that this presentation was solid for telling the story they wanted. Fall does a great job of laying out the story, and plotting out gradual transition of this journey, bringing things into a gradual build up to again help keep that attempt at suspense going. It is mostly very natural, and the editing solid to deliver so much in such a short amount of time. And when the climax hits, all the effects come together to finish the thrill ride in that last drop.

The Cinematography: My favorite part of the whole movie, the cinematography is key to what makes this movie the spectacle it is. This film really pulled a lot of tricks to make the tower look as foreboding as it should be. MacGregor finds all the right angle to get the scene going, from upward shots of the tower, to the angles looking down the valley below to establish the magnitude of the climb. Then he takes it one step further finding the perfect shot to continue showing everything the girls are experiencing including: close ups of them really struggling, the dynamic angle changes as they dangle from ropes and the fleeting shots as they try to solve their predicaments. For so many movie pieces, MacGregor, and the editing team afterwards, really brings it all together to give you the Thriller element without the shaky camera. And then there are other moments I can't share that help immerse me into the movie, helping give that overall picture of what they are doing. I can't say much more, so let's move to my limitations for this movie.

DISLIKES:

More Morgan: Let's face it. He's a top billed actor and there is more we could have done with the talent that Morgan can bring. Whether more time at the beginning, more integration into the other's life, or even shots of him trying to find them would have been welcome. These moments would have integrated the story a little better, and brought that extra angle to help the solution be a little more realistic than what they did. Though, the solution is definitely unique.

More Story Needed: There were so many avenues to explore for the two girls being on the tower as long as they were. Fall had a very big opportunity to utilize the secrets they were holding and gradually reveal how deep the rabbit hole went. While from a time sake they hit the highlights, from another element they skimped on helping further explore the motifs they were trying to present. Having Morgan's character involved could have given even more to give these girls the best depth possible.

Animal Cruelty I did not Need to See: Animal cruelty is potentially something I do not like to see. I can handle if it has a purpose, and for one of them it did work for the sake of the story. However, an early scene showed something I don't enjoy seeing and could have been edited out or done a different way. Does it accomplish the horror, foreshadowing, and mood to come? Yep, but again, it crosses a line for me.

Some In your Face Dialogue That's Cheesy: One thing that modern writers seem to have to do is rub the dialogue in your face to prove the point. Much of the dialogue was either okay or good, but there are other moments, particularly at the beginning, and some of Hunter's dialogue, that is really grueling. Like out of a book of Full House, the "inspirational" comes out a bit cheesy and I was just waiting for the actions to finally prove what the words could not do for me. I don't know if it was the writing, the direction, or the acting, perhaps all three, but those in your face moments did not work for me. Again, I think the target audience in this aspect will love it, enjoying the theatrics that really blow it up. But goers like me, may pray for something better and just bite their tongues to get by it.

Stupidity and Suspense of Disbelief Get A Little Out of Hand: One thing that is tough to avoid in these movies, is the various actions that occur to get the characters into the mess. Champion thrillers for me, are the ones that know how to craft it organically, but Fall's case follows the trend of our characters being stupid. The level of stupidity is kind of extreme, a bit insulting given the lessons they already learned. I mean climbing a rusted, banned tower for thrills... really that is the plot. Then as things progress, you see just how poor one of the characters is, and how stupid they seem to selectively be to push them to have to MacGyver up some quick fix solutions. Those moments are kind of too much for me, and could have changed the movie big time if they had just taken their own advice to save them trouble. And, the series of unfortunate events that happens gets a little ridiculous at times to the point of the stroke of bad luck being a tad too much. It hits comic relief and helps drag out the thrills, but at times I was like, I just predicted that would happen and you did it. This adds more cheese factor to the movie and was probably the biggest frustration of the film for me.

The VERDICT:

Fall was a bit deeper than I had anticipated from the trailers and cast. It blends elements of other thriller films in this category, and expands past the sorority girl motif to give us better characters. The messages are strong, the presentation and layout linear and decently paced, with acting that helps craft a better quality situation than what we got. Of course it's the visual and sound effects, including music, that really make the movie as intense as it is, with a fantastic blend of shots edited together to stir up any acrophobia you might have. With all the good, the movie needed ironically a little more time to fully flesh out the characters, alongside adding more time with Morgan's character as well. Fall's biggest limitation for me though is the cheese factor and how stupid the movie went sometimes. While some of the idiocy is relieved, there are other times where the lack of logic is mind blowing given the plan they had mentioned five seconds before it. Overall though, worthy of a theater visit for the effects, while definitely a recommendation to watch at home.

My scores are:

Thriller: 7.0 Movie Overall 6.0.

A thriller with maximum tension set in the heights with intrigue enough and only starring two roles.
ma-cortes2 March 2024
Best friends Becky Connor (Grace Caroline Currey) and Shiloh Hunter (Virginia Gardner) are climbing a mountain with Becky's husband Dan, who loses his footing and falls to his death. A year later, Becky has given up climbing and become an alcoholic shut-in. She has estranged herself from her father, James (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) , because he suggested that Dan was not the right man for her. Decide to climb an old communications tower 600 meters high as a way to fight against the partner of one of them, who died while the three of them were climbing together. However, m as soon as they reach the top, the steps fall and they are trapped in this remote and precarious metal structure. Fear reaches new heights !. Dropping soon !.

The film contains thrills, chills, suspense, terror, spectacular aerial frames, and plot twists too. Scott Mann directs this fast-paced thriller in which two rock climbing lovers , the two experienced climbers: the two lead actresses Grace Caroline Currey, Virginia Gardner did the bulk of their own stunts- embark on a high-risk adventure to the top of the abandoned B67 TV tower . This takes place almost entirely in the towers, where both young women will have to survive on a platform of very few meters from the inclement weather and the dangers of the night.

It contains a thrilling and suspenseful musical score by Tim Despic . As well as atmospherically adequate cinematography by MacGregor, shot on location in Shadow Mountains, Mojave Desert, California, Four Aces Movie Ranch, Palmdale, Lancaster, California. This decently produced motion picture was well directed by Scott Mann. Scott Mann detailed how it was shot: filmëd on location with the actresses using support wires, the whole thing is real. It's the real structure, they're really up there, and more than anything, the elements that beat them, the whipping around and everything, they're all very real We had these IMAX-sized cameras, went up and basically found the top tip of a mountain that had this big dropoff. And then we built the tower sections by the mountain and that enabled us to film pretty much everything for real with the girls on top of the tower and then if you ever looked right down, there was an element where we had to stitch in ground that we shot elsewhere in the desert to feel it¨. Scott Mann's an action expert directing some succesful films with plenty of spectacular set pieces , violence , thrills and twisted intrigues , such as : ¨The Tournament¨, ¨Heist¨, ¨Down Amongst the Dead¨ , ¨Final Score¨ and ¨Fall¨. Rating : 6.5/10. The flick with appeal to thrillers enthusiasts.

610 Meters Up
j-tamplin18 January 2023
Swap down for up, water for air, scuba gear for climbing gear, sharks for a pair of vultures and voila you have another harrowing story of survival. Hardly original but to be honest it's decently executed. The acting is solid and you genuinely feel like this film was shot 2000 feet above ground. Make no mistake it is uncomfortable. The camera work fully engaged the butterflies in my stomach and properly connected me with actors sense of fear and excitement. Not necessarily the edge of my seat stuff but I was along for the ride. While I haven't given this film a particularly high rating it definitely deserves a watch.

Nice curve balls

My palms were sweaty even after the movie was over. This movie was very predictable and you get what you expect just from the trailer. But this is still a terrifying fun film. There are a couple of curve balls thrown at you that I really appreciated. Very fun to watch!

One of the longest 90 minutes of my life...
thesnowgirl14714 August 2022
And I don't think I breathed the entire time. I went in expecting a tense survival film, and it absolutely delivered on that front. The visual and auditory effects, along with the music add to the moments in the film.

The acting was good, and I loved how it explored deeper topics of trauma and relationships in the subplots. On one hand, Hunter's confessions makes since given what they are facing, but it also felt out place in moments. The twist was good, though it kind of stole from Adrift (2018,) and obvious in hindsight.

Ugh
aliahmedashraf3 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This movie had SO MUCH potential to be a nail-biter but a few obvious things just ruined it.

1) Vultures do not eat people who are alive

2) Becky's husband dies and she hasn't climbed since then but then Hunter wants Becky to come climbing a huge & rusty af abandoned tower when Becky is clearly out of practice and is literally being forced into such a situation

3) The dad reaches out to Hunter to get her to snap Becky out of depression. Why wouldn't he attempt to call Hunter and Becky BOTH? What about Hunter's parents trying to call her? Or Hunter's "boyfriend" trying to reach her?

4) Why is there only one bag of water and food?

5) Why is there no power bank or extra drone batteries?

6) Why is there only friggin 50 feet of rope when climbing a 2000 feet tower? Wtaf

7) It didn't occur to them to scan for traffic when flying the drone to the diner or atleast fly at a higher altitude until the drone crossed the road atleast

8) At no point in time did the father bother tracking the daughter's phone when it's off. Isn't it an official missing persons case if a person has disappeared for over 24 hours?

9) Why don't people tell their friends/family where they're going? Even if it's on a random adventure? The whole "shoot now, post later" culture is pretty retarded

10) What if they shot the flare gun into their car so that it caught fire and authorities got there?

11) Fly the drone up with your phone tied or strapped to it to see if you're getting signals at 2000 feet high which you will get obviously because in this modern day and age, there's phone signals on mountains for crying out loud.

But my most favorite and this is just my way of thinking:

12) Instead of dropping your phone while trying to send a text; tie or strap it to the drone and fly the drone down to the ground instead of across a friggin road. Once the message is sent, fly the drone back up and enjoy your unshattered phone. Duh.

Vertiginous

Warning: Spoilers
If you're afraid of heights, there are some truly unbearable moments in this efficient low-budget film that's very skillfully crafted with near unity of place and time.

The producers are not at their first attempt, since they had already made us shiver underwater with '47 Meters Down' in 2017.

A survival thriller film that also makes us think of 'The Shallows' (2016), to stay in the aquatic domain with the phobia of being devoured alive by a great white shark.

Here we are on the decommissioned 2,000 feet B67 TV tower in the desert, with practically all the worst that can happen in a place that tests our acrophobia so much that it makes us look away more than once, to the point of being really relieved when the end credits arrive.

A big surprise at the near end
sxm-871033 September 2022
There is no doubt that something may be not so smart, I thought it to be plain, and even thought I'd watched this film at the beginning bcz it was just so like the film 'Verticle Limit'.

I could not stop thinking that at that height even a building with rebar and concret shall sway at such a large amplitude that people can't even stand stable, while the camera was so firm when the two are sitting at the top. That is rediculous, I thought. Iron structure is even more flexible, so I suggest to add some 'wobbles' into the camera, so that it will looks more real.

Also I kept wondering why they are not connecting themselves to the tower when climbing up, what if one of them fall off? That seems to be a little lack of common sense, not to mention that they are supposed to be professional.

And the cloth they are wearing got me annoyed too, anybody having climbed up to a low hill will get the experience about how cold it could be at such a height, and it will be chilling at night expecially in desert. But they seems to be just enjoy the fun! I can image how could it will be with such wind, no shelter, few cloth, no food.

However, what really hit me was when Hunter refuses to take off her shoes. I got shocked with it, a little thriller but reasonable why she was just sitting there watching Becky climbing up to the bulb to charge their drone. I will not include the detail of why here, while that is a very traditional but impressing skill to demonstrate that Becky is strong in mind: she needs help and she created it for herself. She was physically lonely but spiritually wise girl. Just like Tom Hanks creating the Volleyball as a friend in the island, she was not a weak and retreating girl as she was when following up all the way up to the top of the tower, yelling and begging to stop, asking for help and home. She was actually just being cautious and stubborn. I got really refreshed at that moment, and it ensured me that this film worth 7 stars rather than 5.

No brains
missraziel9 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Who brings 15ft of rope to a 600m tower? Whoever wrote this should be fired for the lack of logic there alone.

Not telling anyone where they've gone and wearing a backpack on one shoulder is just crazy. I was eye rolling so much it hurt. The drama was telegraphed from the start and really didn't need to be added in the middle of the tower stranding.

They are climbers they should've known to bring enough rope and supplies for emergencies as well as gloves, I refuse to accept that bare hands can hold a rope successfully never mind pull someone up. This is a no brains and no logic movie with bad acting coupled with Ill prepared idiots who should know better. Avoid this disaster.

Breathtaking movie!!

What a movie full of thrill. I could not look away for a moment from this intense thriller. Though I thought some of the scene were just made up and a bit irrelevent but you know it's a movie not a biography. But there is one lesson I think which is not to becoming so much addicted of being famous and internet celebrity. Now a days lots of people are running after to become celebrity in a short time. To get the attention they are taking high risks, and sometime the plan doesn't execute as it should be. And this is shown in this movie very delicately.

The most interesting twist was some minutes before ending. I really didn't think that, it was mind blowing. All of time I was thinking a way but suddenly drastically changes that. This is what I like the most about thriller movies. You never know what's coming.

High thrills but cliche script.
cruise0113 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
3 out of 5 stars.

Fall is a fair survival film. About two girls Becky (Grace Caroline Currey) and Hunter (Virginia Gardner) after a mountain climbing accident. Leaves Becky in a depressed state. Hunter tries to take Becky to get over her fears by taking her to the tallest tower. So they can do a simple climb. Only once on top the ladder falls apart and they are stuck at the very top.

Plot is a bit cliche. The script and characters are written to be dumb. The film is thrilling when the girls are high on the tower. Trying to get down without falling to there deaths.
