Great Potential but to much mean girls
briannammallory12 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It definitely was entertaining until it the bullying started. Alex hall & Polly were so hard to watch I hope they are removed. & The 2 guys that are married acting as if the are single men. Honestly I'd they get rid of them & focus of the real stuff I think it would be that much better if a show. And of course there's drama but I think it was beyond little petty drama & it was all disgusting behavior especially on those 2 girls part and everyone backing them up. However if they keep the other Alex girls with Gio it can remain a good show. Also I love that we get to hear about the struggles some went through to get there and things like that.

Alex Hall and Polly make me sick
melodyso25 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Team Jarvis and Rose all the way! And Gio fan as well. I'm really sick of Alex Hall for getting all the screen time and using it to gaslight and tear down other people while trying to act like she's better than the other. Polly as well is being so mean to Jarvis and Rose for no reason and said very immature things like calling Rose's pants ugly and saying Jarvis is lawyering her. She's clearly projecting her insecurity on them. Bondi is also disappointing! On one hand saying she's over the drama because of her mom and the next thing she's going off at Jarvis and Rose.

Their flirtatious interaction with Tyler is also so hard to watch! And I can believe that Tyler is so okay with it!?

I truly appreciate Rose and Jarvis for standing up for Kayla when they don't really have to. I'm so mad that Kayla didn't thank them for it and instead of cried and sided with Alex Hall.

Gio also seem a very reasonable and level headed person to me. I love how he talks about his wife and respects her so much. Such a contrast from Tyler's childish lack of boundary moves.

I wish the drama in future season can be based on something more solid than Jarvis and Rose bring bad energy.

Better Than Sunset
shannonsuxx27 September 2022
Just finished watching Selling the OC. Jarvis & Rose are Queens. The rest are jealous. Alex Hall is very problematic. Polly is annoying and unnecessarily loud. Kayla needs to stop crying & sell property. Brandi is sheep. The others are extras.

This is the most accurate description of the show I caught on Twitter and thought this would make the perfect review.

I found the drama to be more engaging than the Sunset series of the show. Probably totally produced, but still engaging. The Kayla storyline is also super interesting because Tyler just broke up with actress Brittany Snow so it seems interesting about why that is.

These women are wearing cocktail dresses to meet with clients. It's looks like they are going to a party. It's very glamorous. I don't see much of Brett. Jason seems to make more of an appearance. The water isn't that blue in Laguna Beach. I've been there. The cinematographer must have used a filter. Overall, the show has drama and a lot of it seems rehearsed. I like the scenery and the homes. I wouldn't buy in California. It's expensive and a lot of these homes will be affected by Climate Change. I gave this show a higher rating because I believe reality shows are comedy and I get a good laugh. I'm looking forward to the next season.

Moody High-Schoolers Selling Real Estate
Vic_max31 August 2022
What is the purpose of this show? Watching toxic people argue ... with occasional clips of luxury real estate?

"Selling Sunset" is kind of a guilty pleasure, so I watched this show hoping it would be a similar experience. It wasn't. The show is too focused on the petty squabbles of a handful of immature young agents. Many of them are new to selling real estate in OC.

Orange County also doesn't have world-famous iconic locations and celebrity-connections like Los Angeles. So the homes don't have that extra flair that homes in "Selling Sunset" or "Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles" do.

The show can still work - but the people have to be more interesting and there needs to more of the high-stakes nature of the biz: getting these coveted listings, negotiating high-dollar deals and all the wild / crazy problems that come up at the last minute.

But that's not what they've done. So for now, if you like watching human train-wrecks slug it out, this is your show. Given all the poor reviews I've seen, I hope the producers don't think everyone who watched season 1 will show up for season 2. This show needs some re-tooling.

The rating is > 1 for the real stars - the beautiful homes in OC.

Almost as good as sunset
jmcbrayer-4876328 August 2022
Anyone complaining about the "annoying drama" and "lifestyle porn" with the huge houses and expensive outfits clearly doesn't understand that THAT'S THE POINT!!!!!!!!

This is entertaining and easy to watch- exactly why I turn it on. The gorgeous homes don't hurt either.

It's not quite as good as sunset, but it's much better than Selling Tampa was. On Selling Tampa it felt like the drama was truly forced and that they just jumped into situations you knew nothing about. Selling the OC gives off the same vibes as the original Selling Sunset, just a different cast and slightly different location.

Pathetic!
karaq28 August 2022
Wow! This show is pathetic! Alex Hall and Polly have to be the most hypocritical women on the planet! There is NO WAY this show is any form of reality! Hired actors that never sold real estate yet they sell million dollar homes right away! I say wipe the slate, keep Alex Jarvis, Alex Rose and Tyler develop a new show around those three. They are the only remotely likeable ones. If not, at least write a new script where these women are not demeaning, back stabbing and gas lighting each other in every scene. It's so annoyingly gross and unwatchable! Glamorizing this kind of unrelenting bullying in the work place is pathetic. If the Oppenheimer Group is real I can't imagine someone hiring these women. Let's be real if you're selling a 10,000,000 house you care how your agent representing you. Having full blown arguments with co-workers in your living room would not be tolerated. Don't waste your time watching unless watching women demoralize each other is your thing. I stopped watching after episode 2.

Every cast member is repulsive and I love it!
kietlinskijanek28 August 2022
It's amazing how unlikeable everybody in that show is. In Selling Sunset you had a variety of personalities, from some cringey pot-stirrers, to enjoyable and positive characters. It was a pleasure to bing watch it during covid, but it contained definitely too little drama at first. However in the OC spin-off, everyone is evil or mean and most of them come out as villains od the show. Drama is present since the very first minutes. Which is amazing. That's exactly what we need, and I'm asking for a season 2 ASAP. And for the people who are complaining that there is TOO MUCH DRAMA I recommend switching to Zillow instead of a reality TV.

Boring, boring, boring!
richcats25 August 2022
Forget location, location, location here. The producers just leap into the drama without a single iota about the characters. The short gal with the giant lips needs to learn how to keep them together (and never, ever wear red on them again)! Right off the bat she yanks some gal into confrontation. Like I said, boring, boring, boring. We don't know who anybody is so how can we feel anything for anyone?! And Gio (?) professing his absolute love for a so-so property after the one shown in the beginning of episode 1. It was just so fake. The properties all look the same anymore. No character! I'd rather be middle-class with brains and a homey, warm home than rich with a fake face as well as personality-neither of which can move (hint, hint, Gio's mother). Good gawd her plastic surgeon should be fired for what he did to her face! She looks like a blow-up sex doll on crack! Imagine a woman in her 60s trying to look like a woman in her 20s. Just... ick. I'm really disgusted with Brett and Jason for exploiting Selling Sunset. Shame on them. Don't bother, folks. These people are not educated, the properties are all the same save for that first one and it shows.

If you're not in commission sales you would not understand
KeziaSoteriaBethel26 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is exactly how people act who work in commission sales. Remember most people who are working on commission usually cannot handle or comprehend a standard 9-to-5 job. There's always drama and they try to get other people off their game because they see it as a competition or sport instead of work. Pretty much children that did not grow up on a playground, but still have enough intelligence to work on commission and make the big bucks! I like Rose, Jarvis and Gio because they are the only ones who were actually working. Almost all of their scenes was work related, The others kept on gossiping about them most of their scenes. I know the others mentioned that the girls had bad energy, but I think that they just have intense and serious energy, like they came to work and not play. Everyone else has relax energy and they don't like always feeling under pressure which those girls are hyper focused. Also I did not like the fact that they only showed about three properties over and over again. It almost felt like they filmed all of that property scenes in one day and they just change outfits then cut and pasted it throughout the show. The yacht scene was unnecessary. That was literally petty drama! The one girl I cannot stand is Kayla! Kayla is always the victim, no matter how much she is messing up. If you were trying to f around with someone's husband and then you get called out on it you should not be the one crying!!! Own up to that crap and apologize like an adult. That was highly unethical especially in the workplace. She acted mature enough to try to get with someone's husband but not mature enough to handle the backlash from the way she acted? CANCELED HER! I don't ever want see her face on the show. Particularly Alex Hall is literally the basic b*tch package. She's always loyal to her little cliché circle, but uses every opportunity to get ahead. She's the type of person that takes credit for all the work even if she was in a partnership. That's means if someone was giving just the same amount of effort on a project she would she feel as though she made the most effort and take complete credit because she believes that's she did a better job! Keep in mind this is only in her head since the world revolves around her and everyone else a side character. That's why she was intimidated by the other Alex's because she is used to being the top one in the room and right now she's not. The drama between her and Gio was too much because of the superior belief that Alex has engraved in her mind. I like Gio a lot however when speaking to someone like Alex you have to take her off the pedal stool and explain the situation to her like a 3rd grader. Right now no one else's around her has feelings, she truly believes that she's that only one in the world who has a right to feel a certain way. Bottomline, Gio's wife doesn't like drama, it takes a lot for her to even say something if it bothers her which in this case she did say something. She's not mad at Alex, but it rubbed her the wrong way enough to speak up about it which too a lot because she ain't drama. She wanted to share that privately with her husband because he is her partner and she feels safe expressing those feelings to him only!! He listened to his wife and realized that HE didn't want her to ever feel that way as someone he truly loves and care for. Alex on the other hand is a colleague who he values as a work friend and wanted to let her know to attentive to her surroundings (not constantly focusing on herself) that his wife was trying to give her a hug and she paid no attention. Next time try to pay attention to others in the room. I like Gio very much for being his wife's voice. Moving on, I have so much respect for Austin since he's a family man and will always have his bros back, but is still completely honest! He can do no wrong.....Tyler is a good guy and a man of honor. He comes off as a little shy which Kayla is very aggressive. He kept having fun with the group hoping that Kayla's actions would die down which made him seem a little open and not fully committed.....which was not the case since he's not aggressive like her, but passive. Knowing how the party life can be, there's a huge line that should not be crossed while being married and Kayla was trying her best to cross it. This is why she's single and don't have friends. Please do not keep her in any friend's group or around, it will happen again in another shape or form, it's a pattern! Oh ohhhh and then the crying victim card, I won't put up with her on any more season until she owns up to that stuff like a woman! Don't even try to cross those lines to begin with, honey! And yes EVERYONE in the south says honey and it isn't a bad word. Saying it is actually a kind gesture, you don't want to call them a "B" because you actually like and have respect for them, but what they're doing at the moment is not your cup of tea. Brandi, please stay out of drama, I know she's trying, but try a little harder because I know that's not what's she's used to putting up with. Just stick with your girl Lauren because she seems like good energy. Polly is a kind creature, but I can tell she tries really hard to be liked by Alex Hall. I wished we got to see more of Sean, I would've thought that Miss Kayla would've been all over him, but I guess she just likes married men? I know it seems like I'm coming down really hard on her, but she needs a serious intervention especially if she can't pull hot single guys on her own and then keep them! She has to get rid of this mentality that she does nothing wrong even though what she's doing is like dirty. She would do someone so dirty, then play the victim and start crying to the point where you can't have a mature conversation. Instead of focusing on her wrongdoings she starts pointing out and deflecting on what other people are doing. That conversation with Polly should've gone, hey I needed to pull you aside to apologize for my drunken pass to a married man. I want you to respect me and see me as a woman of honor and it won't happen again. I understand that you found out and said something which you should've because that was highly inappropriate behavior on my part. I feel like all of us should keep everyone in check especially when we're intoxicated. Thank you so much for speaking up and saying something to everyone in the group because this is not the reputation I want when hanging out with my colleagues. I hope season two is just way better and I can't wait for Selling Sunsets new season, hopefully Christine comes back even if it's just a competitive viewpoint!!!!

Unnecessary Drama
quieria25 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The only saving Grace is that the properties displayed were breathtaking. However, throw the cast away. I thought Brandi and Lauren were cool at first, but they soon revealed to be part of the high school immature clique-ish behavior. Polly is the biggest hypocrite walking this earth. She's crying and indignant over Kayla attempting to kiss Tyler but is engaging in a bet with him that results in 1 of them having to strip completely nude and routinely hugging on him and sitting on his lap. Would she behave that way if his wife was present?? Kayla runs to whoever is giving her positive attention at the moment. And don't get me started on Alex Hall... keep Sean, Alex Jarvis, and maybe Gio...throw the rest away.

Vomit-Inducing Narcissistic Portrait of the most shallow, unlikeable people on Earth
wolfmaker1 September 2022
I started watching this out of boredom the day before I am to go back to teaching for the new school year. I've binged watched the entire season now and feel like I might've warmed up a spot in hell for myself. This was the most hideous portrayal of human existence, and I pray to God that it is totally fictional and scripted because otherwise there's no help for humanity. I am stage four cancer patient and I cannot believe I just wasted so much of my life when I don't know how much I've got left on this trash. I think the owner of Netflix should personally reach out to me and extend an apology, as well as offer financial damages for the trauma I've endured being exposed to such a grotesque view of human nature. These people break every moral code in 30 minute episodes That feel like a woodpecker incessantly pecking at your spinal column. If these people are real, I really have to wonder how I am the one suffering a potentially lethal disease? How is it that people like this can benefit and thrive not just in spite of, But because of such horrific behavior? Shame on everyone who had anything to do with putting this project together! Shame on me for watching it! I can only hope that my review will spare someone else the unnecessary exposure to such a glorified bullying, sleaze-dripping excrement!

Very Negative
catalina-2030131 August 2022
Most of the cast is very negative and intense. I am not sure how anyone sells houses with all of the toxicity. It's awful and extreme. Terrible cast members made the most of the show and it wasn't really about the houses or anything positive. The people naming bullies are the bullies and the way Alex Hall and Polly speak to people is beyond disgusting I am not sure why anyone allows them to have a televised job. There is tv drama and there are toxic people. This is next level and they are really abusive towards other cast members. I wish someone would do something to not allow such behavior while filming or be put out into the world. I was looking forward to this after selling sunset....this shouldn't be renewed it was hard to watch such angry and hostile people treat others with such abuse and not be asked to stop by anyone who could stop it.

Brilliant trash TV better than selling sunset 10 out of 10
noracurry4 September 2022
Brilliant mind-numbing telly. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing and binge watched it in 2 days

Just wish there were more episodes! It's ridiculous, silly and just what the doctor ordered after a long stressful week.

Enjoyed it more than selling sunset the people were cooler and prettier and the scenery nicer.

Loved Polly she was fabulous.

Those 2 evil alex characters were hilarious they reminded me of the evil twins in breaking bad 😂

...not sure of Jason's vibe in this series he seemed quite disinterested and bored of the formula but I guess that makes sense ha.

More episodes please! 🙏 I would definitely love to see another longer series!

Warning: Spoilers
Alex Hall and Polly, are single-handedly the most repulsive woman on the planet. My skin feels like it wants to peel every time they come into the screen I am in shock that this is even allowed on TV. I really hope this is staged Drama because there is no way woman actually treat one another like this, and if they do I feel genuine sadness for these woman. What unfulfilling, exhausting lives. I love some good Drama every once and awhile and selling sunsets did a beautiful job of capturing just enough, this is beyond over the top and leaves this brokerage with a completely horrifying reputation, at least in my eyes. These woman are evil. Jarvis on the other hand, is the epitome of elegance, intellect and grace, keep shining.

Not the Newport Beach I Grew Up In
bcorzine31 August 2022
These shallow people claiming to represent Newport Beach are just transplants trying to change it to fit their own vanity. I couldn't afford to live where I grew up, so I had to move away from my friends and family. Am I bitter? Yup. Now these people get a show glamorizing their form of gentrification.

Please stop giving people like this shows? I would love to see the realities of the hustle of actual real estate agents. That would be interesting. Not a show of people getting in and out of their Ferrari's.

Why do reviews need to contain 600 characters? I ran out of things to talk about in this shallow show.

Almost unbearable
rebekaheelam26 September 2022
Alex Hall and Polly make it impossible to watch more than half an episode at a time unless you fast forward while they're on screen. The mean girl energy all for the sake of attention is despicable. I like real estate so I had hopes that there would be actual real estate in this show, at least on the level of "Selling Sunset" which granted, isn't much. But it's almost non existent here.

The hypocrisy starts with the title. They aren't selling anything except themselves and badly at that.

The fact that the main focus is on the two most toxic people rather than anyone or anything else tells you all you need to know about it.

Don't waste your time on this one.

Uncomfortable watch
rebeccacowing31 August 2022
Awful and a really bad look for the O group. It's more about watching a bunch of grown women bully two others in the office. Polly, Alex Hall, Tyler and Brandi, are coming across as awful people. This show is more about how to isolate and team up against other women then selling real estate. Alex Hall and Polly need to be cancelled they are childish and remind me of little girls who would bully at school. I was looking forward to watching this as love selling sunsets but its such an uncomfortable watch. Don't waste your time.

It's impressive how successful The O group has become but this show isn't a good look for them. It's moved to more drama and maybe they wanted that but takes away the professionalism from the actual role they all play.

So annoying, it hurts!
Draak2828 August 2022
Normally I like guilty pleasures like this, but this one is terrible. How did I make it to episode 8 at all? And how can you promote your business with a bunch of arrogant, fake, mean and stupid drama queens? Shame on you, bullying is so glorified! Selling sunset is then 10 times more manageable. Normally I don't type reviews, but now i just have to. I've had to deal with a lot of mean people throughout my life; i don't have the urge to watch them on my screen as well. Come on!

Especially Alexandra Hall and Polly Brindle, you two have such an ugly character and were beyond annoying.

Does the Oppenheim group actually exist?

Most of the cast is unbearable
Lora090116 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The only cast members that the show should keep is Jarvis , Rose and maybe Gio. The rest of the cast is so annoying, Alex hall is such a hypocrite, she's the biggest bully ever and gaslights everyone into thinking they are the problem and not her, Polly is so fake and dramatic , and the rest are just sheep following whatever Alex hall and Polly say. Brandi is constantly complaining how she doesn't want to be dragged into drama , yet she jumps at every opportunity to involve herself in it. Tyler has no boundaries with some of his female coworkers and the fact that one of them tried kissing him three times should be a sign that he definitely flirts back at times, he has no respect for his wife. Kayla has no backbone, it's annoying to see her put Alex hall in a pedestal when Alex hall talks behind her back constantly. In conclusion, 90% of the cast was so annoying that I struggled to get through the episodes...if there's a second season and they bring back all/most of the cast back I will not be watching.

Disgusting
duneplatinum5 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Literally- this show is beyond "trash Tv". It's just TRASH.

The women- horrified that one of them tried to kiss the LOSER husband agent, only to take their clothes off in front of them and canoodle them on the beach. The one "lead"'(who is clearly lying about her age) actually put her lips around is nose while he was lying in her arms!!!

What the actual hell does Netflix think is entertaining?

Beyond stupid. Terrible casting. Filtered lenses galore. Lame- everything.

A story line around cheating with a married man is cringy AF. And below the belt.

Women are once again painted with the same idiotic, blow up doll, bimbo cliche we have working to change in entertainment.

Pathetic.

More real estate, less drama, please!
serena-3943526 August 2022
I didn't see much connection between the Oppenheim twins and the cast, like there is in Selling Sunset. Right away the show opens with an overt display of narcissism from Gio. Lots of petty drama happens during the first episode...we have no background or any connection to any of the cast. It's not relatable or inviting like Selling Sunset. We've come to know the characters over time. We know their stories and vulnerabilities, their strengths and weaknesses. With OC, we're in the dark. Maybe it'll change and get better over time but it's definitely not off to a good start.

There's no way these aren't just actors. I can't imagine a "luxury real estate" company would go out their way to put up with the amount of drama that is shoved down the viewers throat. Maybe they'd actually sell a house if they spent half the amount of time arguing actually towards their job. Instead, they'll show 3 clips of a overpriced wardrobe with some drone shot of the construction in front of the house and call it a day for the real estate. Not everything needs to be a cesspit of drama filled reality tv. When they show the properties it's good though, so.. 3 star.

I can't understand how the O brothers agreed with such dog vomit "documentary" about their firm.

ALL the people are so fake, and they are even bad at being fake that's how dumb they are. But the amount of botox that is on those humans should be illegal. I mean, Gio's mom - ba ha ha ha she could scare babies and puppies.

Even the drama is fake cause there is not really any drama.

Meh.... it's 2022 and people are really that dumb.
