The final seven minutes of this episode, in which Lemon deduces the ingenious, all-inclusive conspiracy of her colleagues, is a fanciful, affectionate tip of the hat to Agatha Christie's MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS, which Lemon's geriatric book club is reading in the episode. The props, camera angles and even some snippets of dialogue are fashioned in homage to Sidney Lumet's 1974 mystery classic, as well as the "real-time" effect, as the final half hour of Lumet's film, which reveals the solution to the murder, is shot in real time.
Frank's trucker hats say "Regional Dishonor Society" and "Snake Biter".
