- Sunshine, who fell below the red line at the last weigh-in, is not the only contestant going home this week. The final four contestants are all going home for thirty days before returning to campus to weigh-in to see which three will make it to the finale. While at home, each contestant weighs in in front of friends and family to show how much weight they have lost to date on campus. Some find being at home a challenge in and of itself, but some also find a few cathartic moments. The contestants quickly learn that they will have much work to do in those thirty days as they will be running a marathon at the end of their thirty days. Each finisher of the marathon will be given $10,000 to be donated to the charity of their choice. Two, who find the task daunting, decide to run the race together and finish together. During the race, each contestant is given some inspirational support. The contestants also learn that the two who fall below the yellow line will not have their fate resting in their competitors' hands, but rather that of home voters. Those two plead their case before voting begins.—Huggo
- The final four contestants go home to prepare for a marathon, but some of the players have trouble staying on track when surrounded by all of the distractions of home. And one contestant gets a special visit from chef Curtis Stone. Later, they return to the ranch to run the 26.2 miles, cheered on by family members as well as each of their favorite past season contestants - season 5 winner Ali Vincent, Season 2 winner Matt Hoover, and Season 7 contestants Mike Morelli and Sione Fa. The winner finishes in record time, breaking a "Biggest Loser" marathon record. Then it's the very last "last chance workouts" with trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels before a final weigh in determines who the two definite finalists will be - and which two contestants fall below the dreaded yellow line, leaving America to vote which one will be the third finalist to compete for the grand prize of $250,000.—NBC Publicity
- Open with lengthy vignette bios for our final four contestants. After this we cut to Alison congratulating Ashley, Daris, Koli and Michael for getting this far. They will go home for 30 days, come back and weigh-in one more time. The top-2 will automatically reach the final, while the two below the yellow line will have to win a nationwide vote for the other spot.
Cut to everybody arriving in their hometowns to rousing welcomes from friends and family. All four of them weigh-in in front of the crowd to show them the progress made over the past few months. Daris has lost 151 pounds, Michel 204, Ashley 143 and Koli 172. Koli promises his crowd that he will win the show. Alison then jumps on the screens and tells each of them they will be running the Biggest Loser marathon at the end of the month. Each contestant to finish wins $10,000 for a charity. No show contestant has ever failed to complete the challenge.
We see Koli have a rare hear-to-heart with his father, who is proud of his son's accomplishment. Michael introduced healthier options into his family's traditional Italian dinners. An emotional Daris tells his mother the lessons she taught him are responsible for his growth. Ashley is having difficulty with the distractions at home.
The contestants talk about the challenge of running a marathon. Daris is interested in breaking the show's time record of 4:55. Michael and Ashley speak over the phone and agree to start and finish the marathon together. Daris gets his visit from Curtis Stone. Stone creates four new menu items for Daris' favorite restaurant and the two host a party at the rib place for all of Daris' friends. Koli talks to Sam about how much difficulty he is having focusing at home.
We see a video diary clip of Daris admitting to struggling with his diet. Stress led him to eat food late at night. Koli ends up going to Vegas to train at a MMA gym.
Bob and Jillian drop on in on the four contestants in their homes. Bob meets Michaels' family and talks with his overweight sister. Bob doesn't like that Koli has escaped to Vegas, since it won't prepare for him real life at home. The trainers put each of the contestants through a private workout.
The marathon begins in cold and rainy conditions. Daris immediately distances himself from Koli, with a solid gap back to Ashley and Michael. Daris maintains a steady pace out front.
At mile 13 Daris is met by Matt, the Season 2 winner. At his halfway point Koli is greeted by Sione from Season 7. (Both Matt and Sione seems dramatically heavier than when they finished their respective time on the show.) Ali from Season 5 ends up running with Ashley and Michael is paired with Michael of Season 11.
At the mile 25 marker Daris' sister starts running with him. When he gets close to the finish line he takes off and finishes by himself. Daris finished the marathon in a time of just over 4 hours, 2 minutes.
Koli comes home with both Sione and his sister. He finishes in just over six hours. Michael and Ashley also are met by siblings for the last two miles and finish in just under six-and-a-half hours.
Weigh-in time. Up first is Michael. He lost 23 pounds (to 299) and is emotional about finally leaving the 300s. Up next is Koli, who has lost 13 pounds (to 218). This puts him in second place. Ashley needs to have lost at least 17 pound to pass Michael and Koli and secure a spot in the final. She does it, dropping 18 pounds (to 213). This means Koli will definitely be in the bottom two, joined by either Daris or Michael.
Daris needs to have lost at least 14 pounds to move ahead of Koli and be safe. But instead (gasp!) Daris has actually gained two pounds (to 197). Daris comes up with an excuse about focusing too much on training for the marathon to lose weight (huh?). Both trainers call him on his BS and tell him it's obvious he cheated on his calories and must decide if he's ready to pick himself back up.
Koli and Daris make their pleas to America. Koli's is pretty straightforward, but Daris turns on the waterworks a little bit and admits that he slipped during the past month.
