- Thursday nights So You Think You Can Dance results show rested on the shoulders of Americas voters, with the judges no longer having a hand in the decision. The opening number was choreographed by Dean Kaspary.
After filling some time with highlights from National Dance Day, Nigel teased to some of the performances that will take place in the season finale, including the instant classic hip-hop number that Twitch and Alex Wong did together. Alex, of course, is injured, but Nigel said a dance legend will be taking Alexs place.
Be our guest: Janelle Monae paid a visit to perform her song, Tightrope. Later, there was some kind of product placement tie-in with Gatorade in which some people in polo shirts attached a bunch of cables and tubes to the dancers.
Dancing legend Desmond Richardson put on a dazzling display with a solo with the Rolling Stones Sympathy for the Devil. Later, Flo Rida performed Club Cant Handle Me.
Their last dances?: Each of the dancers did a solo, and each time Cat Deeley suggested it could be the last time they took the stage. Lauren and Kent went first, and after Kent was done host Cat Deeley announced that the first dancer into the finale is ... Lauren.
Adam Shankman was very excited by the news. He said he prayed that Lauren would make it to the finale because she deserves to be on the stage.
After Adechike and Robert did their solos, Cat brought all three remaining guys onto the stage to announce the next finalist: Kent. That left Robert and Adechike to wonder which of them would go home and which would be in the finale.
Nigel told Kent hes grown quite a bit, and its been wonderful to see.
After some more pimping of Adam Shankmans movie, Step Up 3D, and a performance from Flo Rida, we learned that the final person in the finale was Robert.
That meant Adechike was out. He was all smiles, nonetheless, and said he felt great. He said it wasnt the end of the road, but the beginning of the journey.
