Sex & Nudity

  • A brief reference of getting laid.
  • They walk through a section of the train and take peoples jackets that shows slight female frontal nudity
  • After the nightclub car, there is a hot tub/orgy car which is strongly implied to be used for sex. The shots are quick and not really focused on the piles of half-dressed party people.

Violence & Gore

  • Violent fight sequences with knives, swords and various other melee weapons involving many people. Scenes are infrequent.
  • A couple of characters are shot; one is shot onscreen, and the other is shot offscreen with a bit of blood splattering on the shooter's face.
  • A mans arm is frozen solid then shattered like ice with a big hammer.
  • Characters go around machine gunning groups of people. Not graphic.
  • One antagonist is seemingly invincible, having lived through several fights and being stabbed a few times. He is finished by having his neck broken. This is not explicitely shown.

Profanity

  • 27 uses of "fuck," 2 muffled/obscured uses of "motherfucker." 13 uses of "shit," and several uses each of "asshole", "bitch", "damn", "goddamn," and "bastard."

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Two of the characters are shown smoking cigarettes, which in the film are said to be the last in the entire world.
  • Frequent drug references and infrequent usage.
  • Two main characters are addicted to a fictional drug known as Kronole, and frequently sniff it. It's appearance is similar to clay blocks.
  • A teen girl steals a bottle of champagne from people in a nightclub, gets drunk and passes out.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The entire film is rather intense and depressing. Many scenes go from quiet to loud very quickly, giving a sense of claustrophobia.
  • A teacher educates a group of schoolchildren with frightening propaganda, such as songs about how people will freeze and die on the train if the engine stops.
  • The climax spits out several plot twists all of which are unsettling and disturbing and the ending is just as thought provoking..

  • It's shown that the protein bars are made from insects , This scene could be disgusting for some viewers.
  • Children are taken away from their parents, and they're used as slaves to keep the train running.
  • Some dialogue about cannibalism.
