- Missile Crisis is a coming of age drama set in Atlantic Coastal Florida in 1962, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. The story centers around two brothers, Miles (13) and Danny (9), who are faced with their parents' rocky marriage and the announcement of the build-up of nuclear missiles in Cuba. To ease his younger brother's fears, Miles concocts a scheme to resolve the Missile Crisis. They gather up the resources needed to launch model rockets in the direction of Cuba. The plan is to blow up the Soviet Missiles, and it "succeeds". On the news, Walter Cronkite announces the end of the nuclear buildup. Danny is elated, Miles is relieved. One crisis solved. However, when Miles overhears his parents talking about getting a divorce, he must come to terms with the fact that he cannot protect his little brother from everything—Anonymous
