Some elegantly dressed young ladies and a matron get into a huge open touring car and head off to Coney Island in this feature in twelve scenes from the Edison Studios.
It's fairly advanced in terms of composition, complete with several pan shots, including one in which the girls ride in a barrel that rocks back and forth, with the camera following their motions. A bit of comedy is added by the matron running after them, waving her umbrella frantically, and some staged hijinks; the girls dig a hole in the beach and then one of their number falls into it.
This one-reel movie has all the airs of an advertising movie. It makes it clear that ladies of good breeding, including students from "Miss Knapp's Select School" may have an amusing and innocent time at the beach.
