It was shot by Constant Girel while he was in Osaka, offering the first Japanese showing of movies. Wherever they went around the world, the Lumiere staffers would present shows, help set up local exhibitors, and shoot some actualities to add to the catalogue. It was a clever way for the Lumieres to maintain their position as the leading producer of films in the world and because of it, the seeds of cinema were sown far and wide.
