Excellent!

Like me, you probably find Hitler and his minions abhorant. However, there is a morbid fascination in many as to how he came to hold the German population in the palm of his hand.

He used fear and intimidation in the extreme but he is shown here to be clever in his use of manipulation.

Most of the movie is in colour (added using modern technology) and the effect is excellent.

Get it.

you won't regret it!

Well worth a watch!

The Real "Rise of Evil"...
RealLiveClaude8 November 2015
This documentary explores the rise to power of an anonymous Austrian painter, gone to war, frustrated by its country's defeat and its social injustice, and by the way of words fuelled by insane megalomania, became a warlord whose ideals would spurn crimes of all sorts, including mass extermination and war...

From archives files from newsreels and mostly Nazi propaganda films, this is an insight of the rise of what was an absolute tyrant and dictator, who ruled with an iron fist, and led to World tragedy, one that will be never forgotten.

Excellent narration by French actor Mathieu Kassovitz, a piece of history to understand that words fuelled by violent actions can lead to War.

Not to be compared to the TV movie "Hitler: the Rise of Evil", which was dramatized, this documentary is the real account, and chilling to the bone for crude images...

Right Wing/Left Wing
curt973316 September 2013
lancetb1349: You use the term "right wing" in reference to conservative politics in the United States, not conservative politics around the world and in a different time period. The extreme conservative policies of Nazi Germany are not comparable to the conservative policies in the present day United States. The same is true of liberalism. Therefore, it is a fallacy to describe things like Nazism with a word pertaining to U.S. politics. In addition, you fail to recognize the different aspects of each position: economic, social, philosophical, etc. Both right and left wing groups of the thirties consisted of ideals which were in some ways similar to each other, such as totalitarian dictatorship, and oppression of dissident and ethnic groups. Watch this documentary for its historical value, not an invalid superimposition of present day politics. It offers insights into a little understood period in the development of Nazism.

Tells how and explains why
nathaliecasetelis31 March 2020
Unlike many documentaries on this perticular subject, authors succeeded to explain not only how things happened but also why they happened. I really liked the way they showed link between important events that lead to Hitles rise to power and the reasons behind them.

Hitler in color
Insane_Man18 August 2021
One of the most informative documentaries about Hitler's rise to power from his street life. The footage are much clearer than any other documentaries in the same topic. The narration is in foreign language other than English. Yet I find it very very informative for Hitler and World War II interested peoples. 100% RECOMMENDED.

I love it!

After many documentaries about World War Two, the Nazis, Hitler, and Germany, there is now a high-quality documentary from our French friends that presents a new perspective on a different time. This documentary includes lots of amateur and never-before-seen footage and is shown in a professional way, akin to "Frontline," "The World At War," and the 1997 BBC documentary called "The Nazis - A Warning From History." I recommend the last one for its unreleased footage and excellent execution.

I highly recommend watching the "Apocalypse" series, which is well-crafted, impartial, and engrossing. I encourage you to view the extra, where the team discusses having to edit their work for commercial reasons. It's crazy to restrict all the efforts made in finding new footage. The French company that funded this project should feel embarrassed for letting this happen. I would have been willing to pay twice as much for a couple more hours of this newfound film footage.
