- TriviaWhen Kurt is evaluating Sister Andrea, she recounts the first time she had a vision: "When I was 15. I was playing the piano, the heavenly chords. E, C, D, G, B--with the right; A, F, G, C, E--with the left. And a presence materialized. . . . St. Bernadette, holding a vase with roses. And every time I hit the chords, she appeared, and then she would fade with the notes. That's when I gave myself to Christ. That was the day." As she recites these lines, the actress playing Sister Andrea, Andrea Martin, sings each note in turn. Martin, whose role on Evil otherwise affords her few chances to use her singing voice, is a Canadian-American comedian who is also well-known as a musical theater performer. Early in her career, she was in the cast of the legendary 1972 Toronto production of Godspell, which also launched the careers of Gilda Radner, Eugene Levy, Victor Garber, Martin Short, and Paul Shaffer. She has won two Tony awards (Broadway theater's highest honor), for the musicals My Favorite Year and Pippin.
- GoofsIn The Demon of Memes (2022), David let himself be recruited by a strange man who implied he was working for Vatican intelligence without asking for a shred of proof or identification. But now, when talking about saints and demons, after having encountered a saint that literally drove away a demon for him, he asks Sister Andrea how she knows the saints he and she see are actually "from God" and not from the other side.

This truly was one of the best episodes of the series. We've all read about the urban legends of stretches of haunted highways. It was interesting to see the connection between the supernatural and the cult of fame/attention seeking. They both can bring evil. I love the new attitudes of both Kristen and Ben. Ben is leaning on his science background and Kristen into her own empowerment. I love the girl power vibe.
I have an observation about some of the low ratings and comments about this being a "woke" episode. If you don't like to see or think about strong women, then stop watching and whining. Watch some macho trucker reality show if that's your speed. We have enough respect not to leave negative comments about the constant barrage of themes about women needing men to rescue them. Have enough respect not to ridicule female empowerment.
