A Great Season Opener
In an action packed start to Season 3 of AMC's "The Walking Dead" kicks off with the gang on a scavenger hunt. All the gang are in this episode Rick, Lori, Carl, Daryl (quickly becoming a favourite of mine), Carol, Glenn, Hershel, Maggie, Beth, T-Dog, Andrea along with the new character Michonne
Plot In A Paragraph: Set several months after the end of season two (as evident in Lori now being heavily pregnant and Hershel now sporting a full beard) the gang look for a new safe haven for the undead after the destruction of the farm. They stumble upon a prison, which, whilst not without it's problems they decide it should be their new "home".
In between the action, and there is lots of it. There is a nice scene between Daryl (Norman Redus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) and a nice little son. A long by a camp fire led by Beth. Emily Kinney has a lovely singing voice, but I'm not expecting to hear much more of it. We also get a better look at the hooded character with the sword who saved Andrea at the end of season 2. She is called Michonne and she is a total bad ass, carrying around two chained walkers with her.
Andrew Lincoln continues to impress as Rick just as Sarah Wayne Callies continues to annoy as Lori (even if she is attempting to build brides with Rick, after he behaviour at the end of the second season) IronE Singleton as T-Dog has a bit more to do, than at the end of last season where he either didn't appear at all or was just silent in the background. Steven Yeun is as reliable as ever as Glenn (a character I have a real soft spot for going back to the first season) like wise Scott Wilson as Hershel a character I really took to last season.
A great start to season 3 and a great restart to the show.
