Lowkey toxic
elishacloud28 April 2021
While everyone is being brutally honest its like some psycho murderer unravelling little clues and tid bits to his crimes and early life leading to why hes become insane, the family is quite problematic and they can put one face on screen and suck in tears and cry on cue in their own messed up lives while degrading other peoples or having their own biases towards really messed up people making them the victim. Can we also not forget that Pinky The predator preyed on a mentally i'll man?? DIsgusting.

Wonderful Dystopian Satire
rmb-0284029 March 2022
As a piece of dystopian satire about how disconnected the ruling class is from reality, and how fame-hungry and egotistical celebrities can be whilst claiming to be egoless sueprhumans, it's great.

Dysfunctional
lenald-054383 April 2022
A great wife makes her husband shine in the eyes of others. In my opinion Jada makes Will look weak and her family dysfunctional. I think we need families that actually have something to share with the public that would edify and build up their families. This one is not the example.

Jada is ruining Will!
jlithgo9 April 2022
I feel sooo bad for Will Smith. This show is the perfect example of how a horribly toxic woman can destroy a man. This garbage woman believes she can do whatever she wants to with no consequences. I wish he would leave her and find happiness and let her destroy another man's life. I'm really disgusted by her. 🤢

A legacy ruined
rhondadixon-717923 April 2022
I cannot believe this show is still on the air. It's so obvious Jada NEEDS this show to fill her ego & fulfill her non-existent acting career. She's isn't a great actress & is a worse talk show host. The topics seem over the top when they really aren't. She shamelessly uses her own too personal life to get views since she doesn't have anything else to talk about that would be remotely interesting. I lost ALL respect for her after she tortured her husband on TV the way she described her entanglement. She's also controlling & a know-it-all in the interviews. It's annoying & she has embarrassed her entire family & possibly her damaged ego to even continue with this show has ruined her husband's career.

Washed up and irrelevant:
appletimebaby2 April 2022
To call Jada a has-been would imply that she ever had a career worth mentioning. Instead she is a never-was, and this latest attempt to be relevant is just another embarrassment for the Smith family name. With dry topics and absolutely boring guest, one wonders how much Fresh Prince money is being blown to keep this poor excuse of a talk show afloat.

Real Truth

I have always loved Jada's - and Will's - posts but this takes it a step farther. Personal experiences and personal solutions to challenges most of us share. I'm looking forward to future talks.

Toxic and fake af
demetheus29 March 2022
This show is toxic and fake af. It tries sooooo hard and falls flat each time. So tired of the whole family. The biggest highlight with will...wow she is such a horrible person. And this is coming from a person who welcomes open relationships. NO. U can sleep around but you don't make the person you are in a relationship with cry and be so smug about it. Horrible woman.

Narcissistic
ellejw29 March 2022
This show seems staged, vapid, insincere and manipulative. It states the objective is openness though actually seems to consist of contrived, controversial salaciousness to increase their fame, money, power and platform. The true ultimate goal seems to then use these to exert superiority to get away with violence and bullying. The bullying include of the everyday, ordinary audience that they falsely posture that they are trying to help through relating to us in sharing their affairs.

Since they branded themselves, starting long ago, during many years, as being in family content, I saw some of it. I had not realized how self-aggrandizing and transparently fake it is. I wish I could unsee and wash my head of their unveiling. However, I cannot because, since I saw this, unsuspectingly, expecting family-oriented content, in light of how they say that is what they do, I intentionally did not ever see this show again. However, they continue to spew illogical, forced, unhealthy and insane-sounding statements in interviews on the radio and even engage in violence on TV. They do this in front of audiences, like I, that unsuspectingly clicked on suggested, early evening family-oriented TV excerpts. This happened the Sunday of the Oscars. This happens at time slots slated for news and family programming. They come into our homes as I think I am going to see relaxing, family friendly content then make spectacles of themselves.

Then, they try to elicit the audience's sympathy by forcing tears and acting as if they are victims of their own twistedness. Just before and after Smith violently hit a slight, old comedian, who did not expect this as he did his job on TV, this same couple was on TV smiling, laughing and gloating with pride at how they had showed this elderly comedian and the global population that no one is allowed to compare her to a pretty movie star portraying an elite warrior. It turned out Smith's wife did not like this. Smith made a long-winded, illogical speech about how he is the victim, in the manner of abusers' saying love makes them abuse, since he indicated he had to loudly hit the elderly comedian on TV for us to see in our homes, after a statement comparing his spouse to an attractive movie actress convincingly portraying an admirably athletic SEAL trainee. Just before, they had made a video of themselves making animal faces. Actually, they themselves inflict dragging their own names through the dirt and into others' mouths, since I and many others had to, after this unexpected violent outburst, speak up to hinder this. I and many had to speak up since no one else did.

After hitting this well over half-a century old, comedian at his job, Smith justified himself for punching, yelling and cussing at the slender senior citizen comedian for saying a statement that they surprisingly turn out to dislike. Others and I had to see his long-winded, sobbing speech about himself as victim receive a standing ovation. Then the media elite went on record in interviews that this couple are role models for protecting "women" through engaging in workplace violence upon a smaller, elderly, fellow industry member and colleague at his job. This is in spite of how Smith himself is a comedian that makes fun of others.

They foist this on each other, themselves, others and us. Then they try to turn it around and insist they are the true victims, in the manner of abusive gaslighters. Many others and I had to stand up, alone, as the show, industry association, media elite and standing ovation audience glorified and celebrated Smith, this couple, and this violence against an older individual at his job. They and I had to lose time and risk/encounter internet harassment including personal, irrelevant insults for stating this should stop, after they and I saw this elderly man physically, unexpectedly attacked, yelled and cussed at, as these media elite supported this. All the while, those others and I that said this should stop knew that this could happen to any of us for the slightest statement that did not initially seem especially offensive, as well as for saying this assault, seeming elder abuse, harassment at the comedian's job, cussing and glorification of all this should stop. It was clear that they and others in privileged positions like them are celebrated by the media elite and those in power for suddenly violently assaulting another on the job, if someone says a couple words they even, surprisingly, dislike much less state that the violence is criminal.

Then they justify themselves as "protectors"" of women. Indeed, they are not "protecting women" by amplifying chaotic, workplace violence and harassment of a small-boned, older colleague. It is the opposite. They are, in the extreme, encouraging harming women by goading the media elite into celebrating this and into awarding them as role models of supposedly "protecting" women through an eruption into chaotic workplace violence, cussing and raging at a smaller, less powerful individual, then getting away with it to applause and standing ovation by those in power. They did this after they enriched themselves through the unhealthy content in this show then complained others spoke about this by asking that they please stop sharing these secrets that I and the audience did not expect to hear.

They chose to do this just after a woman had been shot and killed by a powerful actor, similarly, at her employment allegedly after repeated violations there of industry, legal and/or safety standards. Similarly, Smith and everyone contributing to the standing ovation, applauding them, should have known that this outburst violated industry TV standards and criminal law. They chose to do this after years of extreme violence and employee harassment against women by Weinstein, Epstein and many others. Many of those standing during the standing ovation knew about that also for decades though looked the other way while praising these perpetrators too. The justification this couple gives narcissistically is that everyone somehow should have known-- amidst a pandemic, many resulting deaths, war and economic collapse--why Smith's spouse shaves her head, as she has for a number of years. The justification too is that everyone should mind read that she is not open to comparison to the athletic SEAL candidate character and attractive movie star that had portrayed her.

This has even inspired someone to start a petition, thankfully, to stop interviewing this couple. This petition states truthfully that none of us asked for their unhealthy secrets to be revealed to us, as we had unsuspectingly happened to casually click on their so-called family-oriented content. I used to go out of my way to speak of respect for Smith. I have and had no ill will toward him. However, they have chosen to continue on like this for years. The love he spoke of in his speech comes with honesty and structure, and this should stop, including the use of the platform given to them as they have and still use it over years.

Trash
divine_dd-645-94657910 April 2022
A washed up, talentless, B list actress telling all of her family's business as an attempt to remain relevant. Not sure why anyone would watch this foolishness. I hope this show is short lived.

I was able to stomach 10 minutes of this show. Being B actors doesn't make you any more knowledge about life than anyone else. I can't scrub the arrogance and smug off of my TV.

Just a bit dull

If you like this kind of thing then it's fine, plenty of people do, the show has nothing nourishing about it, it's just empty prattle which can be entertaining for the love island, the view crowd.

So hard to watch...
alipoe23 April 2022
I used to like Jada, or at least wanted to. But she has always acted a little too big for her britches, as my grandmother used to say to us when we were getting a little too haughty. There's nothing wrong with confidence and being a strong woman, but she just wreaks of arrogance. And not that Will Smith is perfect, because he absolutely is not, but she is so disrespectful towards him. She's made him into some sort of little pet that must sit obediently at her feet, and it's just sickening. I feel sorry for him. I just can't watch her anymore.

The show could be improved but I learn a lot from the show
troodles-155816 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Overall, I get quite a bit from watching Red Table Top talk. I enjoy the show because you get to experience the world view of three different women within the same family. For example, when the subject of Gwyneth Paltrow Talks Sex discussed whether it was considered unhealthy to tell your daughter that first-time sex was painful. The conversation between Willow and her grandmother revealed how past experiences colour our thinking and decision making. It's essential to grasp that our environment influences our behaviour throughout our life from a young age. Firstly, it's tough to identify and secondly, it takes time to unpick it all to understand how that's impacting you, then do the processing work to learn and heal. It's a lifelong journey.

I did not get a sense that Jada was dissing Will about their sex life at all, as critiqued in other reviews here. For me, the conversation was about how it's hard to sustain a great sex life all of the time when you've been married to the same person for a long time. When you think about the ebbs and flows of life - having children, careers, family and friends, a long marriage is hard to sustain. I understood that Jada recognised that she needed to take accountability and communicate what she needed from Will regarding sex. It's not an easy subject for her, but she is working on it.

Another episode that I enjoyed was the conversation about race between Black Americans and Asian Asians. The show invited subject-matter experts who challenged the thinking around the table. It's vital to try not to take a narrow viewpoint when making assumptions about things, as you may not be truly aware of the whole story. It was good for me, as I learned to recognise my shadows and be kind to myself in that process.

I find the celebrity lens doesn't reflect normal society. For example, the episode with Bobby Brown and his hardship was terrific to hear, but then we're informed they all have their therapists. Getting therapy is very expensive, and not everyone can afford the treatment. I think it would be good to talk with people who aren't celebrities and come from various backgrounds (race, education, wealth, gender/gender-fluid) to understand their stories and how they've navigated through the issues. I mean, how many of us can afford to take two years out of life to do inner work? For me, this would make the show more relatable.

And sometimes, I feel the topics don't contain the depth required to help people understand the gravity of the issue. For example, the talk about narcissism only discussed this from an adult relationship perspective, not familial narcissism. It would be great to talk with Dr Ramani alongside folk who have grown up with narcissistic parent(s) to learn about their experiences growing up in that environment to get a 360 view of the issue. Also, invite other experts in this field, such as Dr Karyll McBride and Dr Elinor Greenberg, to hear different or similar perspectives in this area.

Do Not Watch, Do Not Support. fake, narcissistic, garbage.
lrichmondt21 April 2022
I created an account after watching to spare others from watching this tripe. If you like to hear over paid self absorbed people pretend to be victims and then lecture everyone on how to be better all while patting themselves on the back this show is for you! I only wish I could give it less then one star, I actually think I got stupider watching it, and I now have an appointment booked tommorow for my depression, how can these people be given a platform while true intellectuals get past by the wayside? How does anyone thinknthis family is insightful or intelligent? I honestly wanted to hurt myself after watching it... as punishment for watching it. The crazy guy shouting on the corner who should be locked up in a "rubber room" spouts more wisdom then this entire family combined.

Save yourself the cranial damage and just pass this show by, unless you're the type of person who stops at every dumpster on the way home just to see the garbage inside.

But then again this is just my opinion, I also have an opinion that you shouldn't play Russian Roulette either, but the decision is yours to make.

Table Trash
Johnny_West12 December 2020
Three generations of phony trash pretend like they are not immoral animals and have some kind of spirituality. Do as I say, not as I do is the mantra of this hypocritical family that has no family bonds. Willow is the girl who used to be a boy? Or is she the daughter that wants to be a boy? Granny is just there mining her share of the rock.

Momma "Open Marriage" Pinkett just wants to share her wisdom about her open marriage where everything goes, and her mixed up kids. All about money, celebrity, and power. Just a game to these folks whose family is a business too.

TOXIC FEMININITY
igbogirl4 April 2022
This show is a disgrace to the black family. I had to go out of my way to block the fb page and Jada's page to make sure it never enters my feed and this was a year ago. This show displayed the battering and emasculation of a man in real time and that same battered man acted in a vile, degenerate way at the oscars. ATTACKING A MAN WITH A LEARNING DISABILITY!!!! I AM SICK TO MY STOMACH. I will NEVER EVER, watch anything again with Will or Jada's name on it. Where was this energy for August Alsina? Only a COWARD, would attack a man with a learning disability.

Enough of these people
bmf-8707111 May 2022
There is no denying, Will Smith has some excellent acting performances under his belt. But the rest of his dysfunctional family should remain in the background. Neither his nasty wife nor his entitled kids have any discernible talent- they merely trade off the "Will Smith" name. I'd rather swim through a vomit filled pool with my mouth open, than watch this trash.

vida-2908125 April 2022
Bringing all their dysfunctional businesses for ratings is pathetic. Jada thinks she's Dr. Ruth or some other qualified professional while she spilling her business. She needs therapy & not for ratings. Her mother looks embarrassed at times & her kid is absorbing all the dysfunction like it's water. Jada is obsessed with sex & I wouldn't be surprised if they do a show about her & animals soon.

sethompson-8077522 September 2020
Of course I'm not going to watch someone off the street do a show like this one! I would want to watch someone who is famous and see how they deal with the everyday mundane that we all have to deal with. Jada wasn't always famous, yet she had a rough upbringing and she still prospered. It has always been motivating for me to see where someone has been compared to where they are now, especially when you can see how far they have come.
