Blumhouse Productions and The Invisible Man (2020) director Leigh Whannell are bringing us another reboot of a classic Universal Pictures property with Wolf Man, which had the perfect release date: October 25th, delivering werewolf action to the big screen just in time for Halloween. But Wolf Man only just started filming earlier this month, and the filmmakers clearly feel that they need more than seven months to get it ready for theatres. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Wolf Man‘s release has been delayed, pushed back to January 17, 2025. The studio already had another Blumhouse project scheduled for a January 10th release, the Jaume Collet-Serra / Danielle Deadwyler thriller The Woman in the Yard… but with Wolf Man moving to January, The Woman in the Yard has been bumped off the schedule entirely. We’ll have to wait and see when Universal will decide to release that one.

Jason Biggs is opening up about his past battles with alcohol, revealing he used to hide his addiction from his wife, Jenny Mollen.
The American Pie alum made a recent appearance on his wife’s podcast All the Fails, where he admitted that he continued to drink alcohol while attending counseling.

While underrated upon its release, as John Carpenter’s The Thing failed to make it big commercially following its competition with other sci-fi releases at the time, time has been kind to it. Not only has the sci-fi horror gone on to garner cult status, but many have also deemed it among one of the greatest films the genre has to offer, even deeming it more important than Carpenter’s Halloween.
And the film’s influence is significantly visible in InnerSloth LLC’s Among Us. Hence, it only makes sense for the upcoming adaptation of the game to take further inspiration from the horror, and following its synopsis, it seems like the case.

Jodie Foster is having a good year. The two-time Oscar winner returned to the attention of the academy for the first time since 1995 with a nomination for “Nyad.” Now, she and showrunner Issa López have revamped HBO’s flagging “True Detective” with the best entry since the show’s first season.
“True Detective: Night Country” stars Foster as an acid-tongue, spiky police chief who is tasked with investigating the disappearance of eight men in the spooky, fictional town of Ennis, Alaska. Playing a detective will naturally harken viewers’ minds back to her turn as Clarice Starling in “The Silence of the Lambs,” the film for which she won her second Best Actress Oscar (“The Accused” being the other). It’s her meatiest role in years and Foster devours it.
Brian Tallerico (Roger Ebert) observed: “Our unsteady guiding hand through this darkness is Liz Danvers, played with icy perfection by Jodie Foster.

“Some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet are in prison,” promises Marie-Louise (Happy Valley’s wonderful Siobhan Finneran), the empathetic chaplain of a British women’s prison where first impressions give off a decidedly more dangerous vibe. Marie-Louise is the connecting element between the first two seasons of Time, creator Jimmy McGovern’s gripping behind-bars anthology. She appeared in the first season as a voice of calm at a men’s prison, with Sean Bean and Stephen Graham as stars, and explains: “Nine of out of 10 men won’t talk. Nine out of 10 women won’t shut up—so I thought I’d have a bit of that.” The second season is at its best when its female inmates open up, venting after grueling and grisly encounters that make Orange Is the New Black look like a trip to Disneyland. Just as impressively cast as the first, this...

Sit down for this one: in shock news that stunned the nation, caused a window cleaner to fall off his ladder, and sent flocks of pigeons flying out of church towers, a Doctor Who writer is confirmed to have written an episode of Doctor Who.
Despite denying it at every turn for months, Steven Moffat has finally confirmed his much-rumoured return to Doctor Who. The former showrunner in the Eleventh and Twelfth Doctor eras, whose previous episode was 2017’s “Twice Upon a Time” has indeed written an episode of the soon-to-air series 14.
While the title of Moffat’s new episode is still under wraps, it’s very likely to be episode three, aka The Episode Long-Rumoured to Have Been Written by Steven Moffat. If so, we can expect to see it on BBC iPlayer just after midnight on May 18 in the UK (7pm E.T May 17 in the US and...

Prison films and series tend to pick one of the following themes: Action flicks with plenty of fighting, starring the likes of a Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jean-Claude Van Damme or Scott Adkins. Usually, it’s a good guy fighting for survival against overwhelming odds. Next would be the slew of sexploitation women-in-chains sort, using the premise as an excuse for nudity and other aspects of lurid appeal. Most were B movies that thrived in the 1970s –‘80s. The “Orange is the New Black” series classed that genre up considerably without losing its titillation value. Then there were high-quality character dramas like Shawshank Redemption, Cool Hand Luke and The Rock. Finally come comedies like The Longest Yard.

One year ago, it was announced that the Netflix streaming service had renewed the serial killer thriller series You for a fifth season, which will also be the final one. While executive producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter said that You was always intended to be a “five season journey”, showrunner Sera Gamble decided not to guide the journey to its conclusion. Although she remains attached as an executive producer, she has passed showrunner duties over to fellow executive producers Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo. Thankfully, Foley and Lo are no strangers to You. They have been working on the series since season 1 and season 2, respectively. Now You season 5 is gearing up for production, and Deadline reports that Madeline Brewer – whose credits include The Handmaid’s Tale, Orange Is the New Black, and the horror film Cam – has joined the cast.

Jeff Daniels as eternally glum police chief Del Harris returns for a widening murder conspiracy in the second-season trailer for American Rust: Broken Justice, which dropped Monday.
After the sudden, mysterious death of a former police officer in Pennsylvania’s rust belt in the rookie season is not quite solved by Harris, to say the least, the second-season trailer for American Rust: Broken Justice returns to the fictional town of Buell, where a compromised Del and Grace Poe (Maura Tierney) try to rebuild their lives.
That’s until the trailer reveals a series of unrelated murders that may add up to a much larger conspiracy closing in on a tight-knit town. “We never really do move on, do we?” Del questions at one point.
The fateful wrench from the first-season finale cover-up surfaces, as does Del fretting over how to protect the murder suspect and son of his sometimes girlfriend Grace.

Four new cast members join Kevin Bacon and Jennifer Nettles on Blumhouse TV’s “The Bondsman,” an action horror series for Amazon’s Prime Video. That includes actor Damon Herriman.
Variety reports that Herriman, Beth Grant, Maxwell Jenkins and Jolene Purdy have all joined the show in series regular roles.
The action horror series “centers on Hub Halloran (Kevin Bacon), a backwoods bounty hunter who comes back from the dead with an unexpected second chance at life, love, and a nearly-forgotten musical career — only to find that his old job now has a demonic new twist.”
“The Bondsman” was created by Grainger David (The Chair), who will also executive produce. Erik Oleson will serve as showrunner and executive producer via CrimeThink.

We can now reveal their names — according to sources, they are Francesca Gardiner, Tom Moran and Kathleen Jordan. Danielle Brooks knows The Color Purple’s Sofia inside out. She spent a year as the boisterous wife in the Broadway revival in 2015, and boasts that she knows everything from the character’s Zodiac sign to the color socks she wore. A decade before her fiery onstage performance, a 15-year-old Brooks admired Felicia P. Fields as Sofia in its initial run on Broadway, whose defiant demeanor made her vulnerable to racial violence.
