Naomie Harris is in talks to portray the sonic-powered villain Shriek in the upcoming sequel to Venom, which returns Tom Hardy in the title role and features Woody Harrelson as the fan-favorite bad guy called Carnage.

Shriek has been closely associated with Carnage in the pages of Marvel Comics since her introduction in Spider-Man Unlimited No. 1 (May 1993) as part of the “Maximum Carnage” saga. Deadline broke the news about the villain joining the sequel and making her first live-action screen appearance.

Venom 2 Wants Naomie Harris as Shriek

  • MovieWeb
Venom 2 is eying Naomie Harris to star as the villainous Shriek. It was recently announced that Shriek was going to be featured in the upcoming sequel. Shriek came to prominence in the 1990s in the Spider-Man Maximum Carnage storyline. She has incredible sonic powers and is a close ally to Carnage, who is played by Woody Harrelson in the movie. She is the sometimes romantic interest of Carnage in the comic book source material, though it is unclear if romance will have a part in Venom 2.

Naomie Harris was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in Moonlight and will be seen on the big screen next in Black and Blue, which hits theaters on October 25th in North America. She is also reprising her role as Eve Moneypenny in the upcoming 007 movie No Time to Die. Currently, Harris is shooting the HBO series The Third Day.

Naomie Harris Is in Talks to Play the Villain Shriek in Venom 2

Earlier this week we learned that the Marvel villain Shriek would be making her big screen debut in director Andy Serkis’s Venom 2. Well, it looks like Sony Pictures has found the actress they want to play the character, and that actress is Naomie Harris.

Harris is currently in talks to join Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, and Woody Harrelson, who will all be reprising their roles. Shriek is the romantic interest of serial killer Cletus Kasaday, a.k.a. Carnage, and she’s “bound to team with Harrelson in this movie to face off against Hardy’s Venom.”

Harris is a talented actress, and if cast, I’m sure that she’ll be great in the role. Shriek’s inclusion in the story is sure to make things interesting.

Frances Barrison, a.k.a. Shriek, was first introduced in 1993’s Spider-Man Unlimited No. 1 and is part of the “Maximum Carnage” saga.

‘Venom 2’: Naomie Harris Eyed to Play Villain Shriek Opposite Tom Hardy (Exclusive)
Naomie Harris is in talks to play Spider-Man villain Shriek in Sony’s “Venom 2,” with Tom Hardy returning as the titular anti-hero.

Andy Serkis is on board to direct, and Michelle Williams and Woody Harrelson are also reprising their roles.

The original film was a huge hit for the studio when it premiered in 2018, grossing $213 million at the domestic box office and a massive $855 million worldwide. It followed Hardy as Eddie Brock, a journalist who becomes host to the alien entity known as Venom.

Sony Developing James Bond Spinoff For Female 007

When No Time To Die opens next spring, it’ll have been nearly five years since the last James Bond film released. The 25th installment in the never-ending franchise may have taken its time, then, but it looks like Sony has plans to get the wheels going on expanding the brand soon after. Maybe even with a female-led spinoff.

We Got This Covered has been informed by our sources – the same ones who told us a Black Widow 2 was happening, which Scarlett Johansson all but confirmed yesterday, and that a She-Hulk show was coming to Disney Plus – that the studio is developing a spinoff project starring Lashana Lynch’s character, who’ll be introduced in Cary Fukunaga’s movie. As has been extensively reported on, Lynch – who’s been credited as “Nomi” so far – is playing a female 007. There’s been a lot of confusion about this, but from what we understand,

Film and TV boom pushes UK economy into black

  • ScreenDaily
The latest James Bond film and high-end drama help sector stay strong.

The UK’s booming film and TV sector helped rescue the country from a potential pre-Brexit recession and pushed the economy into the black this summer, according to the Office for National Statistics (Ons).

Issuing its update on the UK economy for the period June to August 2019, the Ons said the film and TV industry had expanded by 9pp, helping move Gdp into the black.

The increase pushed against contraction from other industries to secure an overall 0.3pp increase for the UK economy.

Naomie Harris was groped by a huge star

Actress Naomie Harris says she was once groped during an audition by "a huge star".

The Oscar-nominated actor said she was in her mid-20s when the incident took place.

"I was in an audition and he put his hand up my skirt. What was so shocking about it was the casting director was there and the director, and of course no one said anything at all because he was -- he is -- such a huge star," quoted Harris as saying.

The actress believes her Cambridge education protected her to some extent from misogyny in the film industry.

"I think there is the immediate assumption that you have a brain. Which is not necessarily true if you go to Oxbridge, as I've discovered," she said.

The whole Time's Up movement has led to a "massive shift".

Bond movie filming causes terror scare

The shooting for the 25th James Bond movie titled "No Time to Die" reportedly sparked a huge terror scare while filming was underway at the largest Royal Air Force (Raf) air base in the UK.

The incident occurred at Raf Brize Norton, Oxfordshire last week, after crew members left behind a van following days of filming, prompting 400 people to be evacuated from the base which was put on lockdown as bomb-sniffer dogs were brought in, reports

Police cordoned off the large area after it emerged the van's security passes had lapsed, among speculation the vehicle was full of pyrotechnic explosives. However, that was later disproved.

"Everything was packed up on Friday but amazingly one of the vans was left behind outside the mess. I don't know if it was the film company or the hire company, but someone reported the van,

No Time to Die Poster Has James Bond Dressed to Kill One Last Time

  • MovieWeb
We've got our first poster for No Time to Die. This is the 25th (official) entry in the James Bond franchise overall and the fifth and final in Daniel Craig's run. While we're still waiting on some footage, MGM and Eon Productions did reveal this one-sheet over the weekend, which brings back Craig's 007 in fashion. Though, tragically, it doesn't offer too many clues regarding what's to come in this latest adventure.

The poster was revealed over the weekend as part of James Bond Day. It features the famed MI6 spy dressed to the nines in a dapper tuxedo. Daniel Craig is standing next to a blue wall, with a gate or fence in the background, with the No Time to Die title, in throwback lettering, on the center of the poster. It's also worth pointing out that the 007 logo on the poster is in gold, which could be viewed

No Time to Die Will Tie-Up Skyfall & Spectre Loose Ends

No Time to Die Will Tie-Up Skyfall & Spectre Loose Ends
No Time to Die, otherwise known as James Bond 25, is going to tie up the events of the last two movies in the franchise, Skyfall and Spectre. This, according to star Naomie Harris, who plays Moneypenny alongside Daniel Craig's 007. For most franchise entries, noting that it will tie up the events of the previous two movies wouldn't be big news, but Bond isn't a typical case and, considering how little has been revealed about this entry in particular, this is certainly noteworthy.

Throughout the history of the Bond franchise, storylines have continued but, more often than not, the movies have been made to standalone. However, Daniel Craig's tenure has been heavily serialized, with Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace serving as more of a part 1 and part 2 of the same story. Now, thanks to a new interview with Namie Harris, it sounds like Skyfall, Spectre and No Time to Die
