MPAA Rated R for language and some horror violence

Sex & Nudity

  • Non-explicit references to sexual activity.
  • At one point, two men watch a tape that shows a couple preparing to have sex; however, the couple is interrupted before anything happens.

Violence & Gore

  • In the beginning of the film, a man's back is broken by an unseen force. On-screen, but no gore.
  • A young girl coughs up blood after playing a single note on a recorder for a long time.
  • A woman vomits up black goo onto a man, whose face burns as if covered in acid- briefly shown, not gory.
  • A ghostly hand bursts through a man's chest, killing him. Some blood, but shown in night-vision, dulling the impact.
  • A woman is strangled offscreen.

  • Near-constant language; the F-bomb is heard frequently, typically in response to some bizarre event or another.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • One character gives another "Belgian chocolate;" it is strongly implied (but not explicitly stated) that this chocolate is, in fact, hashish.
  • References to one character being a marijuana smoker are made, but nothing is shown.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Jump scares throughout, but the film largely has a campy, almost self-parodying vibe.
