Let There Be Dance!
atlasmb13 May 2023
Those who understand that The Latin Five does not refer to a dance band out of Miami, may appreciate this series, which follows a handful of women who are amateur dancers pursuing perfection in competitive pro/am dancing. They partner and train with male pros.

They have full lives, including families and careers, but they somehow manage to obsess over the details that come with dance, like wardrobe, grooming, and practicing. They also need funding, because they must pay all their own expenses and those of their professional partners at competitions.

The first episode includes an appearance by Karina Smirnoff (Dancing with the Stars), world-class dancer and coach. As she helps a pro/am pair fine tune their rumba, she perfectly demonstrates the level of ability and style that professional dancers possess.

Let us hope that this new series focuses more on the pursuit of perfection than on any personality conflicts between these dancing queens.

First World Problems
kpassa14 July 2023
This series follows the fortunes of a group of amateur ballroom dancers who pair up with professionals to compete in a series of competitions, looking only for glory and a small trophy. The time, effort and money involved in these vanity projects is staggering but these women are willing to make the sacrifice. We actually enjoyed following the storyline of the different characters. Like any good soap opera there were heroes, villains and tales to tug at your heartstrings but in the end it was just a group with first world problems and tons of money to throw at them. I would be surprised if there was a season 2 but I didn't feel like we wasted our time watching this one season.
