Storyline

Chrysalis is a post-apocalyptic horror film, set 25 years after a biological terrorist attack unleashes a virus upon the world, transforming much of humanity into vicious creatures and laying waste to civilization. The remnants and survivors have staggered about for years, as the "infected" slowly starve and die off. Our story follows Joshua (Cole Simon) and Penelope (Sara Gorsky), two such survivors who have banded together in the hope of rescuing others and hopefully rebuilding civilization. When they encounter Abira, the lone survivor of another group, their worlds and goals are irrevocably altered, and they must face new and terrifying challenges if they are to survive. Trivia

The script began as a POV documentary-style film like "Cloverfield" or "The Blair Witch Project," but was scrapped due to logistical issues with how the characters would power a camera 25 years after the apocalypse. Some residual elements of this issue still exist in an early scene where Josh recharges batteries with a hand-powered crank. See more »

Watch it if you like post-apocalyptic films
31 March 2016 | by dmdbSee all my reviews

I only write reviews of movies with low rating, which actually are not that bad. Give them a chance!

I didn't expect much of this movie, and at the end I realized it is just as I expected - watchable low-budget movie about apocalypse. I like movies about apocalypse and post-apocalypse, so that is the main reason why I watched it. If it was other genre, I would probably quit, but I managed to stay awake till the end.

This is not a great film, it is slow and boring sometimes, but if you like post-apocalyptic movies you might enjoy it. Story is OK, nothing special, but yet different than other similar movies. Acting is fine, too.
