Rosalind Eleazar has a somewhat minor form of Symbrachydactyly/Brachydactyly, a congenital abnormality that causes those afflicted to be born with slightly shorter fingers or toes. Although reportedly she was once shy about her condition, opting to hide her left hand behind her back or in her pocket, she appears to use her left hand frequently and conspicuously throughout the series.
