A Spectacular Conclusion to the Special.
arjsree22 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Continuing from the exciting end to episode 3, Red finally arrives at the Pokémon League on the Indigo Plateau, where he beats the Elite Four. Lance recognizes him as the League Champion... if he had come earlier. Blue obtained the title, and has to engage in a battle with him. After a few glimpses, it comes to Red's Charizard and Blue's Blastoise. The latter is no pushover, and endures a Mega Punch to the face with barely any damage! It retaliates with a Hydro Pump, bringing down Zard to critical level. However, Zard manages a Fire Spin, followed by a searing Fire Blast, and wins!

Oak enlists Red in the Hall of Fame, who later manages to catch all 149 known Pokémon. But he finds Blue hospitalized, and finds that he was injured by what he discovers to be is a Mewtwo(!!!) With some important tidbits of info (how Fuji was a PROFESSOR, and the secret of Mew), Red surfs to Cerulean Cave, and encounters the savage Mewtwo, which sweeps his team easily. After a brief brawl, Zard and Red are thrown into the waters, when the stones start acting up. These turn out to be the Mega Stones Fuji researched on, and combining them... Charizard bursts out of the water in a terrifying new form: Meg Charizard X! A short yet epic battle ensues, and Red manages to capture Mewtwo. The episode ends with Red looking to capture Mew (who happens to be flying outside the window!)

The music derived from the games is beautifully used, and brings back memories. The fight scenes, while short, are arguably the best in the special. Humor is used well often. The deviation from the games are more pronounced here, with a few twists. Overall, it's an amazing conclusion to the TV special. The only drawback: Not long enough!

Reina must have been very worried for her friend!

Warning: Spoilers
Red makes it to the top of the Pokémon League, becomes the Champion, and finishes his quest to complete the Pokédex! What the accomplishment. It's not a simple thing to do, I must say.

As Red prepares to celebrate his accomplishment, he finds out that his rival got defeated by a very powerful Pokémon. Long story short, Red heads out to capture the mysterious Pokémon.

Now, Reina appears in two scenes. In the first, she is seen holding Cubone in her arms, talking to her boss about the rumours that surround Cerulean Cave. She is calm during the chat, and she seems more than fine. In her next scene, she is alarmed with the news about Red heading off to Cerulean Cave. It's one thing to be concerned about a friend. But, the way Reina behaved? I think there's more than meets the eye, because when her boss calms her down, we see a little smile on her face. That's quite the change of emotion in such a small timespan.

I wouldn't be surprised if Reina tagged along with Red, once she got old enough to travel with him.

All in all, I suggest considering what I am saying in regards to the relationship between Red and Reina, with the above points.

If only they could have made the series longer, so we could see Red finally catch Mew. That's my only complaint with Pokémon Origins. It's far too fast.
