- A prisoner masturbates when detectives bring in a woman to talk to them. You can hear him moaning and laughing and see him making the movements but nothing graphic is shown.
- A few obvious sexual innuendos
- In episode one, there is a scans where the infected hand grabs a woman's breast. He immediately takes it back as he has no sexual intentions.
- At the end of episode one, cleavage is shown. It is very brief but is very in your face.
- There is a scene a girl was breastfeeding
- A male student calls Ryoko Tamiya a "mature hottie."
- Migi is curious about human 'mating' rituals.
- Migi turns into a p*nis,Seen very briefly, for about a second in episode 2 when taking to murano
- A teen girl has a nightmare wherein some grotesque monsters hold her down, and it's implied they attempt to rape her (though not explicitly said or shown), however, she gets saved by the protagonist and it's implied they have sex in her dream, we see her naked, with her buttocks and the side of her breasts briefly seen. She then wakes up before anything else happens.

- A girl throws a bottle of paint thinner at Hideo (parasite.) He screams in pain as his flesh sizzles, and the girl then jumps out a window and falls through a tree to escape him.
- Bullies beat up several people.
- A man contemplates suicide.
- This could arguably be considered as an extremely violent anime. The parasite that inhabited the human host devoured other human as a food source and mutilated corpses could be seen from time to time in various amount.
- A scene depicts a mangled and mutilated corpses hanging outside on a cloth rack following a parasite attack. Bloody innards, spines, and ribs are seen.
- An older woman gets her head bitten off, although only blood is shown and the neck stub is covered by her collar. Their daughter is also said to have been killed afterwards.
- Uragami stabs a woman to death, and it's also implied that he raped her first.
- Blood and bruises are shown frequently after fights between characters, including a strong nose bleed.
- A parasite is stabbed through the chest with a cut-off table leg (a lot of blood is shown pouring out of the leg). When seeing that he is losing too much blood, he pushes the table leg through his back, stopping the pouring.
- A parasite walks into a room where an explosive trap was set up. The outside of the building where the room is explodes.
- Several people/humanoid creatures are slashed to bloody shred with huge knife originated from the parasites in certain episodes.
- Hideo is brutally shot by policemen and ended being kill with a huge rock, leaving a hole in the heart area.
- A parasite's heart is ripped out of its chest, then dropped.
- Kuramori walks into his house and finds both his wife and daughter dead and mutilated (only a shadow of their corpses and blood is shown).
- Gotou rams a man's head against a wall, killing him; a large amount of blood is shown, but no brain matter.
- A disturbing seen in which a smiling man single handedly massacres an entire Yakuza. Very bloody and violent.
- A man is shot in the leg (small bullet hole), sliced half-way through the arm (the arm encompasses the blade and throws it point-first into the striker's forehead), and sliced into the lower regions of his cranium.
- A woman is murdered and her body is dragged into the wood, where two parasites are shown eating her.
- A by-standing trucker gets his head humorously bitten off (little blood, but the act is shown). His friend get's sliced in half (showing his legs still standing and his upper body falling next to them)
- Four people, one innocent girl and three stereotypical punks, are sliced into pieces. The men are shown with blood spraying out of their body, while the woman is still standing and her head falls onto the ground.
- School children are killed, and Shinichi is forced to walk over them to get to Satomi. When he get's there, there are two other living students who panic upon seeing him and flee, taking the wrong path. From their fleeing direction, blood is splattered against the wall, suggesting they were both sliced up.
- A parasite explodes after another one drills into his back. After the explosion of his abdominal region, the parasite that killed soars through the air and burrows through the chest of another parasite.
- Uragami is shown stabbing and killing a crying and horrified lady in a landfill (foreshadowing)
- Many people are beaten to death.
- A female parasite is gunned down mercilessly by police forces. She doesn't resist and accepts her death.
- Police riot squads massacre a bank filled with parasites. They are shot in the head under the assumption that they'll be lead out of a false bank heist as hostages. An innocent human is also killed, who was assumed to be a parasyte as well.
- A man is decapitated offscreen, his head is later shown in the bushes which leads to Shinichi having a nightmare of seeing his own head in the bushes.
- Hirokawa, who is assumed to be a parasite, is shot dead by police. Blood pours out from the wounds and soaks a courtroom desk. He is actually human.
- Several police officers are impaled and shot with reflected bullets by a parasite.
- A man slits the throat of another man and woman for no real reason. Some blood is seen.
- A psychotic man holds a teen girl hostage and threatens to cut her throat in front of teen boy (her boyfriend). However, she gets saved when the boy knocks him out and saves her from falling to her death.
- Shinichi is stabbed in the arm while blocking a knife, we see it portruding from his arm with some blood, though he doesn't seem to be too badly hurt by this.
Profanity

- Multiple uses of "shit," "goddamn," "bitch," "hell," and "bastard." No use of the word "fuck."
- Throughout the dubbed version, there are multiple utterances of Jesus, Christ, and God.
- Various profanity are used, albeit sparingly, in the subtitled version.
- In the dubbed version, language is more frequent.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

- Shinichi's father asks him if he is on drugs. (no)
- Some characters are said to be drunk while on a date.
- A man drinks frequently after watching a person die.
- A drunk person goes on a date with a parasite and gets eaten. Another parasite walks by and says that she doesn't eat alcohol-rich meat, but proceeds to join in on the meal anyways.
Frightening & Intense Scenes

- People who have a fear of bugs may be disturbed.
- Blood galore.
- The concept that the parasites (almost always) take over their hosts by eating their host's head and manipulating their body might be found very disturbing. Even more disturbing is that although parasites are probably capable of ingesting human food, they specialize in cannibalism and usually leave behind grotesque and mangled remains. The main character is, however, not insane, is a relatively good role model.
- Gotou is very disturbing in appearance, personality, and brutality.
- Uragami holds Satomi hostage and threatens to kill her for no reason. This scene is very intense.
Spoilers
Sex & Nudity
- Shinichi and Satomi finally sleep together. Nothing is shown, but we can see that they are naked.
Violence & Gore
- Shinichi is stabbed through the heart by a parasite that took control of his mother's brain. However, Migi saves him.
- Satomi and "The Chad" version of Shinichi find a small dog that has been hit by a car. Shinichi holds it on his lap and says it has no chance of survival, that it's organs are mush. After it dies, he just throws it in a garbage bin. Satomi is visibly disturbed and upset, she runs away. Shinichi feels guilty, so he takes the body out of the garbage and buries it instead.
- Shinichi's mother is killed and taken over by a parasite. Shinichi is obviously very upset.
- Several people are stabbed through the heart, including two major characters.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- A girl was playing ball when she was about to get hit by a car, thankfully she is saved but cries afterwards and the mother hugs her, this could be intense
- Kana is killed in front of Shinichi, this scene is pretty emotional.
