Scrat's epic pursuit of his elusive acorn catapults him outside of Earth, where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the planet. To save themselves from peril, Manny, Sid, Diego, and the rest of the herd leave their home and embark on a quest full of thrills and spills, highs and lows, laughter and adventure while traveling to exotic new lands and encountering a host of colorful new characters.
Scrat's storyline parodies science fiction films such as Alien (1979), Prometheus (2012), and The Martian (2015). Though, it mainly spoofs Gravity (2013), with both films sharing the same music in their trailers and a reference of a character's death. See more »

When the 20th Century Fox logo appears, the X in the logo got lit up. This is similar to the Fox X-Men films, where the X in the logo stays for a second longer when the logo fades away. See more »
This movie was the worst ice age movie by far.
Scrat was hilarious and the animation was good, But the storyline was very boring and it was not very funny for most of the movie. The other ice age movies are still amazing but this one almost ruined them for me.
