"The Moose Man Cometh"
Kamurai2527 January 2021
Decent watch, probably won't watch again, but can recommend for a Bad Movie Night.

I thought someone had beat Kevin Smith to making "Moose Jaws" so I jumped on this only to find out that it is more of a "Moose-a-taur" type movie.

Still, a small town under siege by an evil monster-man is a pretty good basis for a low-budget horror movie.

While you would think that the new deputy would be a great hero of the moment to rise to the occasion, he is an awkward addition to a far superior protagonist of someone who is portrayed as dismissable.

Chantel Grover pretty much carries the movie, and I can't tell if it because of some very clever writing or if she's just that much of a better actor than everyone else.

A BAD movie (not a good bad)
I was really hoping I'd like this movie. I went to Alaska last year (2019) and loved it. Chad Carpenter's Tundra comic strip is excellent. It is always funny. Unfortunately, this movie was the opposite - unfunny. Extremely bad acting, a horrribly bad script. I wish I had something good to day about it. Really I do. Some movies are so bad they are good. Not this one. I gave it a 2 instead of a 1 because there were a couple semi-funny parts.

Is There Such A Thing As Community Film?
yargyenrac28 August 2020
This would be the result if your local community theater decided to put on a film. Poor writing, worse acting, and excruciating pacing. Avoid.

One of the best demonic moose films I've seen....at least in the top 25.
planktonrules27 August 2020
As of now, my review on IMDB is only the second for this movie. And, after seeing "Moose: The Movie" I wonder how anyone could rate this movie a 2 or say it isn't particularly funny. It's hilarious...and rarely have I ever laughed out loud this many times as I watched a film. In many ways, it's good, cheesy fun...much like "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes"...but quite a bit funnier.

The story begins with Zach arriving in the lovely town of Gangreen Gulch, Alaska. He's a new ranger assigned to the area and he's shocked to see what a bizarre hamlet this is....with puppet cooks and waiters in the local restaurant, a nearby mime academy as well as, of course, a rampaging demonic 'moosetaur'....an evil beast who is half man, half moose!!! Can Zach, or anyone else in this town, possibly stop the moosetaur before he kills again. Well, no...as he kills again and again and again....but it's not all bad, as some of the victims were just hippies.

The jokes in the film come one after another after another after another. A few fall flat, but surprisingly most don't. The film has a wonderful sense of humor and I really appreciated how the movie never once took itself seriously. I also loved all the tiny little touches you might not notice...which would provide ample reason to re-watch the movie. Very intelligently made despite having an entire cast of unknowns. It shouldn't be good considering it's minuscule budget (about $60,000 apparently)...but somehow it works and works very well.

It's bad.
burtgummer-3187625 September 2020
First of all, I'm from Wasilla and never seen this movie until it was on Amazon Prime. So I decided to watch for the heck of it; and well I couldn't finish the movie as it was just too awful. The one positive I can give is that the cinematography is not amateur. Everything else is sub amateur. Especially the kitsch characters which are god awful attempts at quirky Alaskan personalities. Literally every character is an over done attempt at quirky especially the stupid Diner scene with the puppet guy. Good Lord stick to comic strips and stay out of writing films.

MOOSE: The Movie - A Home Run for Alaska
kwcman21 September 2020
This Wasilla film is one of the most original funny movies you'll ever see. Whether you're from a small town in Alaska or any small town in North America, you'll recognize all of the characters in some form or another. The timing is great and the theme is a classic farce. If you don't like this movie, you don't have a sense of humor. Kevin Carney Actor/Singer/ Technical Advisor and Author

Perfect lite horror comedy film
baduffe31 October 2020
My wife and I have been watching Halloween movies all month (October 2020), we've just about watched everything on Netflix and Amazon when we finally decided to watch Moose: The Movie, we inadvertently saved the best for last. This movie is consistently creative, funny, and twisted. It was made on a very small budget, but doesn't feel low budget. If you're looking for a quirky, fun, and entertaining movie, you'll be hard pressed to find anything better, and no, I'm not from Alaska, and I don't have a stake in this movie. Give it a watch, you'll be hooked in the first 10 minutes, and the monster is actually pretty cool, in a good, cheesy way.

Fun movie
biehlcindy2 November 2020
Yes, it's obviously a low budget movie but the acting is not bad and it made me laugh. Lots of little things in the background are hysterical! Very creative. Silly, yes, but worth watching. With so much hate and sadness going on it's just fun to lighten up and laugh. Don't take yourselves so seriously!

Brilliant and enlightening. I laughed, I cried, I bought antlers to protect me just in case. Will watch again and spread the word about this amazing movie.

Great horror spoof, very creative and off the wall. We were very surprised to find we loved this movie!

The scenery alone is worth watching. The filming locations were beautiful.

MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE DEMONIC RITUAL MOOSE MOVIE!!!!!!!
kdiamond-216492 November 2021
My 3 year olds daughters favorite part was when the two demonic babys were getting married and the moose shows up to crash the wedding. This part was thrilling for my adventure seeking toddler. My 3 year old daughter is doing pre calculus and all ap classes instead of wasting time in dump pre k. She is very much advanced and makes me and my wife very happy every day of her sweet sweet life.

NOW for my favorite part. I very much liked the part were the moose shows up to the park to the park to traumatize and wound the poor innocent citizens of gang green national park, Alaska. I lived in anchorage were i was as well traumatized by rapid moose.my only complaint was the fact that i had post traumatic stress disorder while watching this movie. But beside the point of my ptsd this movie is GREAT to watch with your family and kiddos. By far my favorite demonic moose moovie!!!

Better than Marvel
bridgermaketa28 May 2022
The people who leave a really low rating on this movie are trying to compare it to marvel, and are like the hippies in the beginning of the movie. But for a movie made with by volunteers and donations, this is amazing. Truly captures Alaskan spirit. Disney is seething they don't have the rights to this.

Wonderful Piece
caitlincorbett-0235816 June 2021
This movie is truly hilarious and a great play on Alaskan stereotypes. It's obviously satire, so if that's not your thing you probably won't love it. As someone who has lived in Alaska my whole life it's a must watch.
