- Stannis arrives at Winterfell. Tyrion runs Meereen as Daario and Jorah go after Daenerys. Jaime and Myrcella leave Dorne. Jon sends Sam and Gilly to Oldtown. Arya challenges the Many-Faced God. Cersei confesses her sins.
- Stannis attacks Winterfell. Sansa and Theon find themselves on a difficult situation. Arya challenges the many face god. Daenerys is surrounded by acquaintances. Jaime and Myrcella leave Dorne. Cersei confesses. Sam goes to oldtown to become the new maester. Jon receives news about his uncle Benjen.
- Stannis and his armies march against the Boltons, meanwhile in Winterfell Sansa finds a new ally. Across the narrow sea Daenarys is surrounded by strangers and Arya plans against Meryn Trant. Jamie sauls back to Kings Landing and Cersei meets with the High Sparrow. At Castle Black Jon's authority is challenged.
- Daenerys finds herself in open country after her exhausted and wounded dragon has set her down and she is soon surrounded by hordes of Dothraki horsemen. Back in Meereen Jorah and Daario set out to find her, leaving Tyrion as regent, helped by Varys. Stannis's attempt to take Winterfell is disastrous - although it affords Sansa and Theon the chance to escape - and there is severe loss of life, culminating in a meeting with Brienne, still out to avenge the death of Renly. Melissandre escapes to Castle Black, where Jon is facing mutiny and Jaime departs from Dorne with Myrcella, who is aware he is her father, though they too encounter treachery. Arya has her revenge on Trant but in disobeying the Many Faced God by not killing the appointed victim she also ends up being disadvantaged. Cersei is forced to perform a walk of shame by the High Sparrow but is saved from total humiliation by Qyburn.—don @ minifie-1
- Stannis awakens to find the winter storm has passed, something Melissandre attributes to the Lord of Light and the sacrifice they made. He also learns that half his army has deserted him and someone close to him has committed suicide. He nonetheless marches on Winterfell but the Boltons are waiting for him. At Castle Black, Sam asks Jon to send him to Oldtown so he can learn to become a maester. Ser Davos pleads Stannis' case but the Watch simply doesn't have the forces to spare. Jon Snow doesn't realize the extent to which some of his men disagree with his actions. In Braavos, Arya visits Ser Meryn Trant and strikes one name off her list. She pays a heavy price however. In Dorne, Jaime, Myrcella and Trystane say their farewells and set sail for home but Ellaria has the last laugh. In Meereen, Ser Jorah and Daario set off to find Daenerys while Tyrion stays behind with Missandei and Grey Worm to govern the city. Daenerys has traveled to a faraway and unfamiliar place. In King's Landing, Cersei decides to confess and pays a heavy penance.—garykmcd
- Melissandre believes the Lord of Fire has delivered as the snows melt away and the way forward to Winterfell is clear. Selyse hangs herself after Shireen's sacrifice and half of Stannis' forces desert (as they did not agree with what Stannis did to his own family). Melisandre flees to Castle Black (she fears for her life after failing to deliver the Fire Gods favor as she promised). Stannis marches to Winterfell with his remaining forces. Stannis plans to lay siege to the castle, but the Boltons bring out their cavalry for a front on attack. Stannis is defeated by the Boltons and subsequently executed by Brienne (she finds him alone in the forest surrounding Wintefell, defeated, injured and given-up). Brienne leaves her lookout where she was waiting for Sansa's signal, and she misses it when Sansa actually manages to send the signal during the Stannis attack on Winterfell.
Sansa attempts to escape Winterfell, but is caught by Myranda. Theon kills her (when Sansa again appeals to her) and the duo leap from the outer wall together before Ramsay can enter Winterfell again back from his conquest of Stannis.
Cersei confesses her former relationship with Lancel (but not with Jamie. She says this was a lie propagated by Stannis to remove her children's claim from the throne). The High sparrow allows her to return to the Red Keep pending trial, but is forced to atone by parading the streets naked (with her hair cut) as jeering crowds pelt her with garbage and feces. Upon her reaching the Red Keep, Qyburn introduces a new member of the Kingsguard with complete loyalty (Qyburn had managed to restore Gregor Clegane and make him fit again).
Jaime, Myrcella, Bronn, and Trystane set sail from Dorne. Soon after, Myrcella is fatally poisoned (administered by Ellaria Sand) (Ellaria has kissed Myrcella on the mouth before she boarded her ship, and delivered slow working poison straight to her mouth). Before dying Myrcella had told Jaime that she knew she was his daughter.
Arya enter the brothel the following night, in the form of a young prostitute, of the type that Meryn likes. She enters Meryn's chambers with a face mask stolen from the house of black and white. Arya removes her mask and reveals her true face, before stabbing Meryn in the eye, there by killing him. After that, Arya returns the mask to the house. Arya is blinded for violating the Faceless Men rules after killing Trant for personal revenge (using the techniques she learned from her time at the house of black and white).
Varys arrives in Meereen (Varys is invited by Tyrion as he needs a network of spies to govern Meereen) to govern the city with Tyrion, Grey Worm, and Missandei. Naharis and Jorah search for Daenerys, who has been captured by a Dothraki horde. Drogo had taken Daenerys far away and then gone to sleep while trying to lick his wounds. Daenerys left him and went foraging for food when she was captured.
Jon has lost his supply of Dragonglass while escaping from the white walkers at Hardhome. Jon says that the dragon-glass was too little to have mattered anyways. Jon says Valyrian steel is able to destroy the white walkers, but there aren't enough Valyrian steel swords in the Kingdom either. Sam convinces Jon to let him learn to become a Maester by studying at the Citadel. Jon is reluctant, but agrees. Sam says that his knowledge will come in handy when the white walkers attack. Samwell, Gilly, and Little Sam leave Castle Black for Oldtown where Samwell is to train as a Maester. Davos arrives at Castle Black and wants the Wildlings to fight for Stannis. Jon refuses. Melissandre enters Castle Black and informs Davos that the entire Barratheon family has been lost. Mutineers, including Alliser Thorn and Olly, fatally stab Jon (in retaliation for sympathizing with the Wildlings and for letting them through the wall, which they considered an insult to every Night's Watch who fought them previously).
