The title "Zoo Story" bears no connection to the Edward Albee one-act play of the same name. Instead, the title refers to two story lines of woman being held behind bars against their will, in the case of Rusty's mom, incarceration for criminal wrong-doing, and in the case of criminally abducted woman, as caged slaves for over-the-border human trafficking. May I weigh in? Because there are odd things to discuss that might help you.
For example, there's no sign of sexual abuse, which is unexpected considering the girl wasn't held for ransom. And then there's dog hair all over her clothes from several different breeds.
