Nicholas Farrington proves a great success among the girls when Jane brings him over to the May of Teck club. In return, Nicholas invites Jane over to a Poet's party of various political thinkers before then asking a favour of her regarding his manuscript. The girls discover that there are pitfalls to getting on the roof to sunbathe via the bathroom window when Nancy gets stuck, while Selina is involved in a relationship with married American G.I. Felix Dobell. But his reluctance to leave his wife soon sees her set her sights elsewhere, much to Jane's chagrin.
